Where the Boys Are (1960)
Spring Break is on
I was hysterical when Frank Gorshin fell into the fish tank followed by the rest of the gang. "Where The Boys Are" is one of the best movies of the sixties. Anyone who came of age at that time can definitely relate to the magical love Merritt found, the tragedy that Melanie experienced, the wanting to be loved and accepted as did Tuggle and Angie. The suave George Hamilton made many a young girls heart race faster. Girl crazy Jim Hutton with his style setting baseball hats and comedic personality was simply hilarious. The title song, one of my favorites still gives me chills. I have seen this movie countless times and I love the nostalgia it brings back each time. When it airs, enjoy it at least once. You will love it, I promise.
To Each His Own (1946)
I enjoy a good cry now and again!!!
I think the film was quite wonderful. Miss. De Havilland was so compelling as the young Jody, caught up in a wartime love affair that leaves her pregnant. Her kindly, wonderful, and non-judgemental father, played by Griff Barnett leaves you feeling nothing less than empathy for the Norris's. When the illegitimate son of that romance finally meets his biological mother, Jody, with the help of her friend Lord Desham it is every adopted childs wish come true. Keep the tissue's close. This movie has so many wonderful character actors and actresses. Some may find it a bit trite but you must keep in mind the time period, it was a different society then. Watch it at least once.
The Little Drummer Boy (1968)
Delightfully Entertaning
Each year as the Christmas season unfolds I look forward to the showing of The Little Drummer Boy. Aaron, along with his drumming of the movie's title music always brings tears to my eyes, but they are happy tears because of the love and compassion that fills this little child. It is a wonderful story that I believe everyone should do themselves a favor and watch at least once. I find myself humming the title song for days after seeing the film.
Another World (1964)
What a Place to Live!
I watched this wonderful family soap from it's inception, I actually felt these charactors were my extended family, as I'm sure a lot of you faithful"s did.
I was so angry with NBC for cancelling "MY SHOW"
One of my most memorable season's was 1974-1975. Favorite storyline, Mac, Rachel, Janice and Mitch in St. Croix.
I also loved the Heaven storyline with Vicky and Ryan, I cried for hrs.
The Corys, Matthews, Randolphs, McKinnons, Hudsons, Loves, and all the other families gave me so many hours of pleasurable daytime tv, I will remember and think of all the actors and actresses with fond memories. I am so glad I taped some of the shows.
