Heppoko jikken animêshon excel saga (1999)
Excel is Excellent!
I really can't tell you how awesome this show is! I have just watched this last week and all I can say is that I'm GLAD I've been watching anime for the last 8 years! Wow! That opening theme was so perfect for the show I'm humming it right now. there's too much going on in the show to describe, but the 2nd episode (parodying the B-grade action movies) is my personal favorite. Too hilarious!
Uzumaki (2000)
Too Intense for words.
All I can say, is that after watching 8 years of The X-Files, I never thought I would see something as engrossing as well as entertaining. This movie is all that and then some. I have never seen anything like it before, even though the basic premise is that an entire town is obsessed with spirals and those spirals drive them to kill. This actually reminds me of the X-Files episode "Blood", when regular people start to act violently when they see odd messages on electronic devices. Uzumaki is like that, but with spirals. I won't blow the plot if you haven't seen it already, but it's worth a look, and I can promise you, you wouldn't want to look at your fingerprints after this.
Angel with an Attitude (2000)
Just what I needed...
Hi!
I actually saw this film last night on TV, and I must say it's as weird as it gets. But, I have to admit it's just what I needed. After what has happened on 9/11/01, it was hard for me to find anything other than the destruction, and mentioning of war and death. So, channel surfing, I stumbled upon your movie (from the beginning, to my surprise) and well, I felt like I was in another world. The plot at the time was hard to follow, but just looking at it kept my attention.
I visited your site today and read more about this film, and I agree with your challenge that you don't need car chasing or gory horror to send a message. I'm impressed with how all these cute macho dolls were used in this movie. Just Aurora and all these yarn guys, and that's all the action that was needed. I was like that as a kid with my cabbage patches. You guys made me feel so sentimental after the film was over. I guess that's the only way I could relate after the first look.
But, now I know a little more, and I'm impressed. I apologize that this email is long, but I wanted to tell you how I felt while it's on my mind. Mucho props to everyone involved with "Angel With An Attitude."
