Garfield's Fun Fest (2008 Video)

You know somethings wrong when they have to put "FUN" in the Title, seriously false advertising.

I must say I am a fan of Garfield comics. I also enjoyed the Garfield and Friends Saturday morning cartoon..... This movie has none of the charm.

Here's the problem. Garfields sarcastic, snide comments and attitude are not fitting for a children's movie. The dialog and environments don't match at all. In one minute of video, they have bubble blowing cars and brightly colored scenery while Garfield tells his friend that he "sucks".... I don't teach my kids to talk that way at the age that this movie is marketed towards. What were they thinking? The new imagining of Garfield stinks, every movie has bombed and so is this stinking pile of mean and unfunny dialog, with tacky scenery and character design. Just 90 minutes of humiliation towards the characters.

Skip this movie...... And please, don't let your young kids watch either...

Only one good point... the CG is clean (but isn't anything amazing).

I'm trying to retain a balanced review.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)

A very enjoyable romp with a clean story that is fun for adults and children alike

I and my wife found this movie to be extremely enjoyable. I thought the 3d was very well done and tasteful. It was unfortunate that the internet and blogosphere reviewers are so jaded and do there best to destroy any hope of box-office success for any clean, straight-forward fun.

There were no agendas in the movie, no sex, no unnecessary violence, just a really fun 3d ride.

Don't let the bitter people dissuade you from seeing this movie in the theater. Everyone I know who saw the movie had good things to say. We gave it a standing ovation. 9/10

Bridge to Terabithia (2007)

Not for Kids. Not Narnia. A well acted film that was horribly advertised. Not happy. Very depressing.

This film was well cast, well acted, well shot.

It had good special effects.

This is it... it is not what they showed in the trailer.

It was very depressing and tackled topics that were not suitable for children. There was not cursing, sex, or violence, but it was NOT for young kids.

!!!Small Spoiler!!! I watched in disbelief, waiting for the movie to swing out of the depressing theme. I Expecting some kind of reprisal of the good. It never happened...

Don't take your kids. I wouldn't take a date, or even my Mom.

4/10 at best...
