Much, much, better than it's rating.
25 November 2012
I'm taking the time to review this, which I often do not, considering I watch every movie that is released, because the rating on this movie is far to low. It's definitely not a 9 ( my rating standard is tough, ) which I have given it, but it's definitely far from a 5; I gave it a 9 in the hopes it's overall rating would be raised.

Anyways, how people are giving this such a bad rating are beyond me. Everything that you expect in a movie was there, great character portrayals, great writing, and obviously good direction. This director/writer I'll definitely be keeping an eye to see what he can do wit a bigger budget. Great work.

Gees people... a decent horror/slasher flick. I didn't expect INCEPTION.
10 April 2011
I picked this out of a local, one dollar, grocery store video rental box. I was in the mood for a stupid, slasher/horror flick, that may be a little fun. It exceeded all of my low expectations. It has a decent story and * gasp * people get stabbed, which has been done a few times before, but alas, once in a blue moon it's entertaining...

I was delighted to find it was directed by Wes Craven when the credits rolled which made it all clear why this movie was half-way decent. Why everyone is giving it horrible reviews is beyond me. Its not like every Wes Craven movie is Nightmare on Elm Street. It seems the reviewers are blessed to watch only amazing movies and fodder like this deserves no place in their world, which is fine for them I guess. I myself watch many movies a week so if I couldn't enjoy an average movie my life would be a nightmare...ijs

Evidently you must be in the FBI to see the true plot line
13 August 2009
I hardly ever write a comment for a movie but after watching this for the third time and reading the reviews for this film, I felt I must.I don't understand how anyone can leave the absolutely horridly negative reviews of a fine film. Granted I enjoy most movies and I am a fan of the original X-Files series, but I find it impossible for this film to have such negative sediment.

I also find it hard to believe that no one mentions the actual true underlying plot of the movie. This movie is titled " I want to Believe " . Why, because the characters not only are finding it hard to place their faith in a psychic but are finding it way harder to place their beliefs in a higher power, as in God. Its a common inner battle in every human to " Want to Believe " and it is well replicated in the writing and through the quality acting of Mulder and Scully. They " never give up " , leave you with quality questions about one self, ones relation to others in the world and to a higher calling or the possibility of there of... Great work.
