Succession: Lion in the Meadow (2021)
Family dynamics
For me, the scene at that table on the beach where Logan and Kendall are simply sitting in silence after Logan's pitch to Josh that all would be okay was perfection; the complexities of the tension between them was visceral. Great performance.
The Morning Show: La Amara Vita (2021)
Steve Carrel saved this episode.
I signed up for an IMDb account JUST to comment how awful I find Alex/Jen Anniston. Nearing the end of season 2, I never understood/liked this character or the performance. She's heralded as this renowned veteran journalist yet demonstrates the intelligence, class and poise of an entitled brat. It's explained as her "breakdown" but the acting is so desperately non-relatable. What happened to all this self-work/therapy? Why not use your own book to explain your side, why is she freaking out before knowing what Maggie ACTUALLY wrote!?! And that random call to Lizzy? I'm left thinking, why? Why am I wasting my time watching this? The foreshadowing is like a big bright flashing neon sign and if it weren't for Steve Carrell and Valeria Golino I'd have given this ep. A hard ZERO. And now, Mitch is offing himself?! Ugh. Brutal.
