Rain Man (1988)
Is this the greatest film of all time? No, definitly not.
When I watched this movie for the first few times, I thought it was decent, but as time passed, the more I watched this movie, the more depressing it gets, and yes, I do have high functioning autism myself, but I'm nothing like Raymond, as I'm not an idiot savant. It's also too overrated tbh, like I don't know how that had won an emmy award, and it isn't even all that great. This film has the most sterotypical of autistic people one would expect, and not every autistic person is the same (then again, I did met a few autistic people I know who behaves like Raymond, but that isn't saying much really). Yeah sure it does have some funny scenes, like when Raymond was screaming like bloody murder (once when Charlie (played by Tom Cruise) forced him to go in the plane at the airport and the other one was more funnier when Raymond was trying to turn off the bath faucet. "Hot Water Burn Baby" comes to mind) and that underwear scene too, but others are just too depressing to watch through.
I'm sure there are better autistic films out there like Killer Diller, The Accountant, the 2017 Power Rangers film (even though that film wasn't as great as the original series, but it's fine for what it is) and my most personal favourite, The Black Balloon (and that film was way more funnier than Rain Man, even though it has some funny moments).
So yeah, it's not the greatest film ever made, but is it the worst film of all time? Well..... not excatly since it has some funny moments like the ones I just mentioned earlier, but still close.
Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (2000)
One of the most funniest films ever to exist.
I really loved this film a whole lot, it's extremely hilarious in many ways. The first film was funny too, but I watched the sequel more often every year. That's probably because I have it on a double feature VHS tape with the Grinch (the Jim Carrey one), which I always watched that every year on December before Christmas.
And yeah, it's got a lot of funny scenes and quotes, such as Sherman Klump yelling "I AM IN CHARGE!!!!", and that always cracks me up. For whatever reason, I always thought Sherman Klump getting dumber and dumber and mumbles was more extremely funny to watch than saddnening. The way he talks when he became dumb makes me laugh a whole lot. Of course, there are a lot of sex jokes too, especially when Buddy.(who got de-aged into a baby) hugs the blonde womens breasts and rips of her shirt, and that just gives us real fanservice.
Sure it may have some disturbing scenes (Granny stripping off her clothes comes to mind), but it's still a hilarious film nonetheless.
A Very Barry Christmas (2005)
A fun Christmas TV Movie to watch.
This is one of those funniest Christmas movies ever to be made. Basically Santa Claus fell down from the sleigh (and the way he screams sounded really funny), then Barry Buckley (who dresses up as Santa Claus, and is in fact an Australian) got shot up into the sky, and Nutmeg the reindeer thought he was the real Santa Claus and catches him until they got back to the north pole when they realised there was a mix up.
Meanwhile in the Australian outback, the animals thought Santa Claus was actually Barry, and so did the other humans (and they even treat him like one).
I watched this movie every year in December when it was close to Christmas, and I even recorded it onto DVD a couple of years ago when it aired on ABC3 (the Australian channel). It's a fun Christmas special to watch.
Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (1984)
It's good, but it's not perfect.
I do have to admit that I really loved that show as a kid. It's not the best show in the entire history of television, but it does have some flaws, even the earlier seasons. Some episodes are great, but there are some episodes that can be really unsettling for me to watch (mostly the Gordon episodes, which by the way, Gordon's grumpy face from the model era really terrified me, I just don't like that character so much, which it made me really upset every time I see his face or hear his tone of voice).
But other than that, it's a pretty good show. Seasons 1 to 7 were the classic, then seasons 8 to 16 has gone downhill to the point of being completly garbage. Now I only watched a few episodes from the Andrew Brenner era (I didn't watch the show as much now so that's probably why. Because I was getting older anyway) and I thought those seasons were pretty decent. But then, Big World, Big Adventure came, and the show had started to become complete garbage again. Edward and Henry were replaced by Nia and Rebecca respectivity and Toby was also removed from the Steam Team (which by the way, it was pointless to begin with). After that, the show got cancelled (and it ended it on a very sour note). Then Mattel decided to make a reboot of this series and Nelvana co-produced this series, which is All Engine Go and that series was WAY worse than the bad seasons from the original series.
You do have to give credit to the original composers of this series, as some of the music were really good (especially the runaway theme). I'm not a huge fan of this series like I used to be when I was a kid, but it's still nostalagia (at least in the earlier seasons). It's a show for preschoolers, so it's easy to outgrew it, but only watch it for nostalagic purposes.
Brum (1991)
Brum is one of the greatest classics.
Brum is actaully a great show. The first 2 seasons were the best, and Seasons 3-5 were not bad, they're just not as great as the original 90s seasons but still.
It's very underrated as far as I'm aware of, so it's a true classic. The theme song was excellent (especially the season 1 theme, my most favourite season of all).
So yeah, Brum is a great show for kids, and even adults can enjoy watching this show, especially if they grew up wat.ching this series like me.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993)
One of the greatest and the most nostalagic.
I always loved Power Rangers as a kid and I still do to this day. It's a show that was from the Japanese Tokusastsu series, Super Sentai, and Haim Saban really nailed it when creating this show. Sure it has weak dialouge in some episodes, but the fighting scenes were spot on. The Monster suits were all fantastic, as much as the Power Rangers suits (and of course, the zords). The best part of the show is when the monsters grow giant size and the Rangers has to call on their zords to form their Megazords and they fight in battle.
The music is so epic that it's comepletly impossible to dislike this show and no wonder it became so popular, because it's one of the hottest shows ever. Every single seasons from Mighty Morphin are great (yes, including the alien rangers), which other seasons continue to be this great such as Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force and Wild Force (The Disney Era seasons are alright, but it has gone downhill afterwards).
This show also had a lot of comedy to it, especially with Bulk and Skull, being the best duo in Power Rangers history. So yeah, this show is one of the greatest and the most nostalagic of all (especially season 2, which is my number one favourite season out of the 3. I really liked the zords, the villains etc. Heck, I even loved the fake voices for Jason, Zack and Trini, since I grew up with their voices while morphed the most).
Rugrats (2021)
This Reboot is just as good as the original.
I was so excited when I heard that this reboot is coming out, and when I watched the episodes, it felt really great and it still has the same charm as the original series.
Although, there are some things that felt a bit off, like Susie and Kimi switching ages with each other, Betty becoming a lesbian, Lou is now a hippie and worst of all, Boris and Minka looked completely different to how they originally appeared. But despite all these flaws, it's still a great show nonetheless. The CGI looks wondeful I have to admit.
King of the Hill (1997)
This has to be the number 1 best animated show on FOX
I really loved this show a lot. It's one of those animated shows that has a realistic feel to it. Unlike most Fox shows like Family Guy or The Simpsons, King of the Hill is the kind of show which the adult humour is more like what adults can relate in real life, and it fits perfectly well.
It's also one of the most funniest shows that ever aired on television. Almost every characters like Hank, Dale, Bill among others made me laugh. The character that made me laughed the most is Cotton Hill, due to him sounding a lot hammy and the way he speaks and behaves. Him despising his own son (Hank) makes him unique and really funny to watch, unlike most TV Dads.
It was created by Mike Judge (the creator of Beavis and Butthead, which was also a great and funny show), so whenever there's a show created by that same person, chances are you'll likely hear Mike Judge's voices on some of the characters like Hank Hill and Boomhauer. Such a wonderful comedy show.
Pizza (2000)
Fat Pizza has got to be the best show in the history of Australian television,
I really loved this show a lot. It's really hilarious and it's one of the best Australian TV Shows ever made in the entire history of television. Such great characters such as Pauly Falzoni, Sleek the Elite, Bobo Gigliotti, Habib, Rocky, Leonard the Nut, Mama Gigliotti, Davo Dinkum, DJBJ, Kev the Kiwi, Murray the Cop, Claudia McPherson, Katrina, Toula, Ronnie McDoggle, Junior, Chong Fat, Ruby, Lifesaver Les, Guy in a Koala suit and so many more!
Every single episodes from Fat Pizza is top notch. Memerable ones such as Rufugee Pizza, Beach Pizza Parts 1 and 2, Doctor Pizza, Brand New Pizza and many others. It's so underrated that not many people (especially outside of Australia) know about this show. I really reccomand you watch this series.
Some scenes can feel like they can work for shows like Power Rangers or Masked Rider, like for example in Refugee Pizza, Pauly had a battle against 4 of the nuts from earlier episodes, including the former Koala guy and Leonard the Nut, because the way Pauly kicked Leonard makes it look like he was doing a Rider Kick (The same kind of kick used in Kamen Rider).
So yeah, Paul Fenech is a huge genious when it comes to his projects, such as Fat Pizza among many others.
