Lovely Runner (2024)
15 Years - Looks exactly the Same
I'm so confused! How could they go back in time 15 years but the characters look exactly the same at 19 and 34 years of age. The series is too far-fetched. There's no real reason why the FL Is able to go back in time. Also, the reason for the. ML's Suicide is not explained. He doesn't look depressed or unable to go on with Life in the first episode for him to suddenly leap off the balcony. If they knew each other from high school, why did he act as if he didn't really know who she was when she was in the wheelchair? The really high ratings are not really supported. It must be because of the ML's fan base. I've only watched the first episode, but it didn't really hold my interest.

Just Meh
Only reason I watched till the end was for the handsome male lead, Xu Yan Shi (Vin Zhang). His acting was believable. FL was not the right fit for him or her role in general. The other female, Shu Chen would have been much better fit in looks and character. The acting was subpar and too silly to take the main group seriously. Not enough time was spent on HIS career for it to be the end goal. The story had too many holes and was all over the place. The series left a lot to be desired as a romance. There was no real spark from FL, no wedding, etc.... To show them with a five-year-old kid at the end. 😒A disappointment.

"LOST" Serotonin
This is the second series I watched from a list of recommended titles from a YouTube video. However, this is the first Series I refuse to continue watching till the end. I need to scrutinize that list much more carefully now. Ordinarily I feel compelled to finish a series, but I just won't put myself through this. I stopped halfway through episode 4. You know that hopeless feeling you get when watching people who are shameless and empty inside? This is how I continuously felt watching this. I watch K-Drama's for escapism and help increase my serotonin levels. When a K-drama says romance, I expect feelings of happiness and a great overture in the end. Based on some reviews it turns out this does not occur.
I imagine there are people who enjoy watching others in misery or suicidal, etc... They say it's because it makes them feel better about themselves. If that's your thing then this is for you. Additionally, the series is very slow paced, and a lot goes unsaid and is just expressed with silence or looks. The acting is performed well and very believable.
Call It Love (2023)
Good Storyline -Slow as Molases
Watching this entire series was very challenging. At times I wanted to bang my head from frustration. There were so many unnecessary filler scenes that made the series uncomfortably long. Like just watching the characters walk down the street and hearing their footsteps, or stare at a campfire and even a virtual one on screen. I tried to fast forward at times but of course when I did, I would miss the one line they actually spoke. I understand the culture in that it is unnecessary to speak to avoid a conflict or hurt the other persons feelings. That is very common in all Asian dramas, but this particular drama takes it to the extreme. In the west we believe communication is key to a successful relationship. If you don't tell me what you feel or want, how can I understand/satisfy you. It's amazing any of their relationships work. All in all, it is a good love story, and the characters performed well. However, be prepared to practice a lot of patience.

Beautiful But Slow
First of all, do not let the title of this drama take you "there". I don't know why its rated 16+ or for mature audiences. I watched it on Amazon Prime and this is PG13 at best and I don't know why the other review says "sexy". Let's say the one or two scenes in the entire series show them completely covered and it's not raunchy or anything like that. This is a love story about a younger woman in her early 20's who pursues an older guy, perhaps 40. She's not looking for a fling, she wants his whole heart, and he is reluctant, obviously because of the age difference. He is one of the kindest, most gentle and humble souls out there. She comes from a wealthier family, and he is not. The soundtrack is beautiful, my favorites are "The One", "Love Again", and "Lucid Dream". If you are looking for a nice and clean love story, this is it. You won't be disappointed.

Noooo, Could Have Been 10!
First of all I have to say I really watched this series because of Jung Hae-in. My favorites have been "Something in the Rain" and "One Spring Night". They were really good romantic/adult series that had a great ending. As with most K-Dramas I tend to binge watch them and have to force myself to take a break. My aggravation with them is that they are so unnecessarily long. This one in particular had so much filler and silly side characters. It just doesn't make sense that mixed in with spies, CIA, presidents and heads of office there are silly, petty wives, fortune tellers, and spineless goofballs. This took so much away from Im Soo-Ho and Eun Youg-ro's characters. They were so professional and did a fantastic job. I was so damn angry with the ending that from now on I refuse to invest hours on end unless there is an HEA in romance dramas. In any regard if you don't mind a sad ending and are a big fan of Jung-Hae-in then give this one a try.

A Bit of a Let Down
I actually paid for a Disney+ subscription just to watch this series. Little did I know that it was going to be such a short series. I expected much more romance/intimacy from these two beautiful actors. "Nevertheless", I don't regret my subscription. I watch all of Park Hyung-sik's work and have seen his transformation from "High Society", to "Happiness" and is a delight to watch every time. Soundtrack #1 had great music and beautiful imagery. It is lighthearted and good clean love. Now I realize why Disney was the right streaming service for it. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed and you can watch it's entirety in one sitting.
The K2: Episode #1.16 (2016)
Action Packed with a Hint of Romance
Overall, I would say this is more of an action movie. Ji Chang-wook (Kim Je Ha) is a wonderful actor and was excellently cast for this role. Equally wonderful was Song Yun-ah (Choi Yoo Jin) her performance as a villainous, powerful and beautiful woman was stellar. Between the two actors the series was addictive and a thrill to watch. However, I think they missed the mark on Im Yoon-ah (Go Anna) was not a good match for Je Ha. She was more of a mousy girl and didn't really have any chemistry with him. The episode where Je Ha acts sweet and happy for Anna eating ramen didn't come across well and was almost painful to watch. It was a mistake to have this badass, gorgeous guy act like a swooning fool. The storyline was at times difficult to follow with so many players trying to one-up each other. However, a few 10 second rewinds kept the story straight for me. This series is a thumbs up.
