Dead Fish (2005)

Wasn't THAT bad...
3 August 2008
The main reason I got this movie was to see Gary Oldman do his thing. I think he is a great actor. This movie was one of his poorer film choices, but he did his best with the screenplay. There were somethings in this movie that made me blush a few times because of him, and I'm not talking about the sexual content. Its just how strong Lynch's feelings are and Gary Oldman really portrays that.

But the character that really made me laugh was Robert Carlyle's Danny Divine. He was really the clown of the movie. He his constantly angry and just hilarious in all.

So, I'd give this film a 6 just because of the acting. Great acting, bad script.

Scott Smith Ruined His Own Book (spoilers of The Ruins novel)
29 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is definitely not the worst movie I've ever seen, however it made me feel extremely disappointed. I read the book before I watched the movie. It is probably one of the best books I've ever read, and it made me so happy to see that Scott Smith wrote the screen play because I thought it would be directly from the book, maybe skipping a few unnecessary scenes. Imagine how disappointed I was when I was watching this movie, or anyone who read the book before the movie for that matter!

In the book Pablo, the Greek near the beginning of the movie, was the one to get his legs cut off. Mathias was supposed to live until the end. (This made me the most angry because Mathias was my favorite character, who is portrayed as a strong surviver. However, I think they picked a good actor to play him. Joe Anderson is an amazing actor.) In conclusion, I'd recommend the book before the movie in a heartbeat. They are completely different. So either way, there are a few surprises!

Mindfreak

This show is the best ever! The demonstrations this man does are absolutely mind-blowing. All of the episodes fill you with both excitement and confusion. Its never a dull moment on Mindfreak. Criss Angel is an amazing illusionist. But don't take my word for it. Watch it yourself. Its on every Tuesday night at 10 on A&E.

"Why aren't you here Why does life seem so unfair You were strength in my darkest days Now how can I face the world Alone I need you here

God tell me why My friend is gone My friend is gone and I'll give up forever to be with you So tell me why My friend is gone"
