2 Days in the Valley (1996)
Spend some time in the Valley.
My first impression of this film was that it would be a carbon copy of many other movies, such as Pulp Fiction. But this movie turned out to be better than I thought. Dealing with several different kinds of people at one time, the film shows how each of them end up together in the end. Dosmo Pizo played by Danny Aiello, provides the funniest scene of this film when he is making spaghetti with a wooden spoon in one hand and a pistol in the other as he tastes the sauce. The end of the film shows where most of the main characters are headed, except with the two cops, Eric Stoltz and Jeff Daniels were simply forgotten. All in all, if you want a good dark comedy, seeing this film would'nt hurt a bit.
One Hour Photo (2002)
one of robin williams' best performances
I was personally anticipating the release of this film ever since I heard of it. Robin Williams gives what I think is definately one of his best roles, as he totally takes on the role of Sy the photo guy. All in all, a very dark film.
The Ring (2002)
before you die you really should see the ring
One of the best and truly most originally creepy thrillers i have seen in a long time. And just because it doesn't have marquee stars doesn't set this film back at all. Naomi Watts is perfect for the role. Trust me, there will never be another film like this. This one will have you scratching your head for a while.
The Green Mile (1999)
finally a good novel adaptation
I read the book before hand, and was simply amazed at how well the screenplay followed the novel. In my opinion this is the best adaptation of a novel to the big screen that I have ever seen. I also recommend reading the book first as you are able to understand everything much better.
