Jensen! (2002)
Some people may like it
Over the years I say that the taste of people have changed. Of course that also depends on where you live. What I'm trying to say is that you probably will agree that entertainment got cheaper, more violent and more sexual.
Jensen is an example of that change in taste.
If I could describe it I would call the show: cheap and annoying.
Why do I still watch it sometimes? Well that's because people nowadays just like to watch things that are made for the simple minded. Even though I find it cheap and annoying it secretly is a bit funny.
Jensen the host, he keeps making fun of other people. His lame jokes are brought to you in a funny way. It doesn't require your mind to do any thinking at all.
It's good we have shows like those. The simple-minded people want to get entertained. Watching CSI all the time makes you stressed. Oprah is getting a bit old fashioned. So try Jensen.
Samurai Chanpurû (2004)
Nice style, almost perfect
I've recently watched the anime in Japanese with subtitles. This anime has nice graphics (different than ordinary anime) and nice music. Some songs are in English but song by people who clearly don't speak English. The music was almost perfect.
Jin, Mugen and Fuu are going to search for the samurai who smells like sunflowers. They don't know much about him. This search is a request from the girl called Fuu. A young, energetic and quite strong girl. She knows how to defend herself unlike a lot girls in anime.
The three travel together even though they don't know a thing about each others background. One appears to be a wanted killer, the other a corrupt thief. You really get to know every character and his/her past. One their way they do rude and crazy things. That makes it very funny. You also get to know a lot about the Japanese history.
Despite the fact that it only has 26 episodes, it had a filler. And it was too obvious that it was a filler that it annoyed me a lot.
Except for that huge annoying filler, every episode was interesting and funny. Sometimes the were fillers disguised as episodes. There are quite a few sexual scenes. There also is a lot of blood in the series.
Overall I really liked the anime. The intro is hip-hop music. And some scenes in the future appear in the anime thats about the year 1600. But you won't find it annoying. It's got is own brilliant mixed style. They made an anime with an ancient story finished with a modern touch.
School Rumble (2004)
Much better than expected
School Rumble SR, season 1 only has 26 episodes. I decided to watch it because my friend recommend it and it was not violent.
The plot: You can read it at the homepage. But overall it was not predictable. Very simple, no huge events. And the show really had a quick plot. No fillers, every episode is different with a lot of funny scenes and daydreaming. It's kind of all about an ordinary students who are always dealing with love. Most of the episodes were about the class at school. Sometimes they go on trips but most of the time they are at school.
The characters: There's a bunch of high school girls and boys, they all got their little story. They all are kind and simple minded.
*Tenma, the main char. She is very simple-minded but that's what so cute about her. She loves Karasuma. She has a little sister who's much less clumsy and lot more mature.
*Harima, I love the way he acts. He's so extreme in everything. If he wants something he really goes for it. He's deeply in love with Tenma.
*Karasuma, a very quiet but weird kid. Sometimes he dresses up very weird, or does stupid things. He's very noble.
The musics: The show was only 26 episodes, I didn't notice a lot background music. The opening theme really suits the anime. It's very cheery, and so is the ending theme.
I really can recommend you this anime. Compare it with GTO great teacher Onizuka but then SR has a lot more love in it and less violence. Even though it's about love I still also want to recommend it to the boys.
One Tree Hill (2003)
Another TV show for teenagers
There are 4 seasons now. I have watched almost every episode. Compared to The O.c., One tree hill is kind of a very low quality production. Before you read all of this please keep in mind I'm just being critical and realistic.
About the characters. All the main characters like Lucas, Haley, Brooke etc are said to be in high school. They are about 17-18. But if you look closer they sure aren't 17-18 years old. Most of them if you check their profile here they are 25-27 years old pretending to be 17. As if we wouldn't notice. You can also really notice that the characters really improve (and that they are all like eye candy). Let's compare season with season 4. The acting is very different. They went from, below average to very good. But the story didn't change much and is still predictable.
The music. The show really spends a lot time introducing new upcoming artists. I personally think the music in the show was great. And a lot of variety. They put a lot of effort in it.
The plot. You can read that on that on the homepage. But in my opinion the plot is very predictable. Im not from the USA but Its exactly the image that foreigners have of the USA. Highschool students who sleep with everyone, crazy teenagers, depressed students, parent's who don't care at all, sex, drugs and so on. And in the show there sure happen a lot of car accidents! I believe every season has a car accident. Lucas-Keith, Rachel-Cooper, Haley-Daunte.
I don't know why watched the show. Something about it made me keep watching. If you plan to watch it then I would advise you just to follow your heart.
