Turning Red (2022)

A Villain (spoilers)

The mother is a villain in this story, absolutely overbearing and doesn't let her teenager be a teen. She thinks her little girl is perfect in everyway and blames everyone around her daughter for corrupting her when the poor girl is only being a normal teen girl, but at the same time takes it as a personal attack on herself i.e "How could she do this to her own mother?" regarding Mei's choice about her own body near the end. You'd think the mom would know how it is to have such a tiger mom seeing as her own mother was so strict and disapproving. I was absolutely furious when the mother said "you are so hard on yourself" during the reconciling in the end, like no?? Its YOU that's hard on her. (TMI) This movie brought up a lot of unresolved overbearing abusive mother issues for me.

That being said, I feel this movie could've been a lot better than it was.

That being said, not the worst movie in the world, but not the best either. The embarrassment and cringe that was the mom for 99% of the movie ruined it for me :U.

Fireheart (2022)

Cute, fun movie for kids

Cute and fun, goofy movie, good for children. I'm a pretty easily entertained person and I found it decent.

I only have two issues with this film, but they are pretty minor and easily overlooked.

1. The voice of the main character; she sounds wayyy older than 16, which is the age she is supposed to be, but I grew into it through the course of the movie and pretty much stopped noticing it.

2. The character design for the main character, she is seen working out at the beginning and doing some stuff where she is shown she can easily hold her own body weight and I feel it's very unrealistic that her character looks like she has no muscle mass at all, but then again, its an animation, and a childrens movie, so I can't really ask for realism.

Antlers (2021)

I am easily entertained

Saying that, I think if the buildup to the ending and the climax itself were done a bit differently it would've been a better film. Even with how it was done It's a good film in my opinion, which isn't worth much since I find almost all films good or great unless there is something very wrong with them.

Not so many cheap jump scares in it as well which I really love, jump scares have always infuriated me since they are a cheap way to get a spook out of someone, this film builds fear in other ways!

National Security (2003)

Bad comedy

Two-thirds of this movie is nothing but infuriating, it's a horrible racist cliché. I can count maybe 2 funny bits that got a nose exhale from me.

At the last third of the movie it kind of starts redeeming itself but not enough imo.
