Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show (2009)
All the trademark humor of Ed Edd Eddy packed into a 90 minute film
The trademark humor of the Ed Edd and Eddy series is their incredibly elastic body parts, over-portrayal over-exaggerated simple ideas, and the ability to turn the most innocuous objects into sophisticated machines, and this film continues off of it. Basically the story revolves around the Eds trying to escape the wrath of the cul de sac kids after their latest scam unintentionally goes awry, leaving Kevin, Nazz, Rolfe, Johnny horribly mutilated. During this whole pursuit, each of the cul de sac kids run into humorous situations similar to the TV series and through these situations they really get a chance to learn about each other and the strength of their friendship. The film was well made; each character had a decent amount of development, there are happy and sad times for the Eds and the end of the movie is unlike anything you have ever seen in the TV series. This is highly recommended for all fans of Ed Edd Eddy.
AVH: Alien vs. Hunter (2007)
The fight scenes are poorly choreographed
This film is apparently done by amateur film makers and producers not comparable to the Hollywood, paramount tier movies we might normally be used to. The story and title is clearly ripped off AVP which was another famous movie that debuted within a reasonable time bracket but this movie falls far below as its derivative.
Starting from the beginning of the film, the scenes lack a lot of continuity. It takes a while to figure out whats going on, and characters are thrown right into major points of the movies without much background or information introduced. As you watch more and more you will understand what is going on but its not so obvious at first. The story jumps around a lot and a lot of the time the audience is left to guess whats going on until a later scene reveals what was going on previously. Though this technique is good in some movies, it clearly wasn't utilized effectively in this movie.
The special effects are fairly low budgeted and quite frankly high school students in America probably could have done a better job. the CG is very choppy and doesn't really obey the laws of physics either. I am not even going to bother listing "revealing mistakes" in the goofs section because anyone who watched this movie probably can write a book about it. The "hunter" in this movie is clearly a human in black spandex with a bumbling clunky boxy costume.
The fight scenes are poorly choreographed. It looks worse than wrestling on TV. In the fight scenes the muzzle flashes and machine gun sounds are never synchronized. Sometimes the muzzle flash sprite isn't even placed correctly and off the barrel.
The acting is not particularly good either. Porn actors and actresses probably have done better acting than these guys.
Overall this movie clearly isn't worth watching if you have to pay for it. I don't think this movie was ever released in theaters (thank god) but if you ever come across this movie on TV (Sci fi channel would probably be the only one to air such a crappy movie) where you can watch for free, it might be worth it (but not likely). I decided to rate this a 3 because all in all, despite the plot was ripped off, the acting and special effects were terrible, it does look like they tried to make a decent movie but just failed miserably. It's comparable with Uwe Boll films, another film maker who's films are definitely on the lower rung of the movie ladder. It's not an obnoxious or a hate ensuing movie. The only thing that would anger someone watching this movie is probably the time and money they wasted to watch this movie.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
A must see film for all you adventure movie lovers
This film nearly 20 years old still remains in my opinion to be one of the best films made ever. This film in nature is similar to the prequels but bases its story on another historical significant era in European history, The Crusade. This movie takes a difference approach in the sense that it integrates a more humorous aspect with a somewhat clash of a father son relationship, but nonetheless is nicely integrated with sufficient action packed confrontations with the typical Nazi villains. This film is a roller coaster ride on a journey of discovery for a lost artifact of history as well as the relationships between the characters, all mixed in with the wacky go lucky antics between Indiana Jones, his father and the Nazis.
