Frida (2002)
best director
i wish i could give this a higher vote than a 10. julie taymor is the
reason i want to make films. she really proves it is an art. she
took an incredible story and turned it in to a captivating work. she
is not only the best woman director. she is the best director
period. i remember the first time i saw titus and how her images
haunted me. once again she left me with visuals that i'll
remember for life.
American Family (2002)
Great find
I just happened to come across this show and stopped because Edward James Olmos was in it. This is an excellent show, at first I thought it was a movie it was so well done. BOO CBS, for dropping such a wonderful show. Thank goodness for PBS, once again they save a meaningful program that illustrates the diversity of America.
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Astounding!!
One of, if not the, greatest movie ever. Visually imagine a buffet of hyper-color for your soul. The music is exhilarating and it is hard to stay in your seat. A comical love story comparable to Princess Bride, just adding intense music and color. It's like falling in love all over again.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Over-hyped
Good movie but completely over-hyped. This should not be anywhere near number 1. Far more violent and far less spiritual than the actual book. It was beautifully shot and of course it's a great story, just over-hyped.
