The Buccaneers (2023)
Mediocre Show, Awful Soundtrack
This show is by no means bad. It had some good things going and some not so good. The characters with different personalities is nice, although some of them bothered me.
The biggest issue for me was the awful choice of music they would consistently put throughout the show. Some songs were so bad that I could just not focus on the scene itself because the music was overpowering or just completely did not fit. I'm against comparing the show to Bridgerton because I feel like they are quite different and there is not enough basis to compare, but one thing Bridgerton does amazingly is the music...they should definitely take notes.
I'm not a big fan of the love triangle, especially a love triangle where both men are friends prior. I've seen plenty of shows that have done this exact trope so I don't find it as interesting.
Some actors had great acting, and they made the show so much better. Especially the mother Patti, Guy, and the duchess.
Another issue in the show is there were too many side stories, the viewer could not really feel invested in each one enough because there wasn't enough time to focus on the stories individually. As a result, the series couldn't cover everything properly, some had plot holes, and some were rushed.
I understand that there's gonna be a second season, but still some plots were unnecessary. Also, I did not like how some stories concluded, especially what happened to Lizzie. She did not get the closure she deserved. Lizzie, the character as a whole had so much potential, but I don't know why they completely set her to the side.
Overall, the show could definitely be better. I don't know If I will watch S2, I'll wait and see if the plot-line is worth it or not.

The series is worth a watch, but not a must watch. It had a decent plot throughout the series, although the last season was rushed, especially towards the end. And in contrast, I found season 2 rather dragged. I enjoyed the additions of some characters and others were unnecessary. Lawyer brother Colbourne was a great implementation as well as Lady Susan's return. There were some plot-lines that I admit I wasn't a fan of (Augusta's) and which proved to be unnecessary at the end anyways!
I found some characters quite lovable especially Esther, LD & The Parker's. Charlotte as well - but I have to admit she became sort of a pitiful character, completely different from her S1 self. I cannot blame her after her hardships, but it is as if she is not the same character...except when she was a governess we saw some S1 Charlotte sparks again.
Overall, the plot and characters are there, but the execution is not as great as can be. It's worth a watch for period drama lovers, I just wish the ending and some plot-lines were better paced and better executed.

Suspicious Parter: slow, messy, average.
The show is trying to do too many genres at once. Crime, thriller, romance, drama, and comedy is too much. While I acknowledge their effort, it just made the show all over the place. Tones changing constantly, it's hard to know what to feel and when. It's like watching two different shows.
Episodes are pretty slow. I genuinely feel like it should have concluded in 16 episodes. The flow would've been nicer and the sequence of events too. I usually finish a 16-episode drama in a few days. This one took me 4 days just to get to episode 7. I keep pausing out of distraction and doing something else. Basically, it's NOT a binge-able series.
However, I enjoyed everyone's acting. While JCW is great, this is one of his inferior roles. His overall performance was good, but something was missing. Female lead was okay, she plays the "unfiltered" quirky girl pretty well. However, the female lead's wardrobe was so bad. I don't think she wore a single appealing piece of clothing, it was awful to witness.
While both actors are good at acting, they simply didn't have the chemistry I thought they would. This feels harsh to say, but they did not look that good together.
The story, in my opinion, would have been much more interesting if they were genuinely and actively searching for the ex-boyfriend's real killer as soon as it happened. Overall, the plot could have used better writing and flow. Would I rewatch this? No. Would I recommend it to someone? Probably not.

Second Lead Couple Win.
The only thing worth the watch is the second lead couple, who actually seem attracted to each other. They're cute, genuine, and real. Second lead shows his emotions, while calm, but doesn't hesitate to express himself. I love the second female lead as well. They were the best part of the show, a very cute couple.
The male lead is quite stiff and mostly expressionless. The character (or the actor) really played a significant role in me not liking it as much. His stiffness and the dry ways he says his dialogue is underwhelming. Even if the character is supposed to be that dry (which I find hard to believe), there are many other dramas where it was done correctly. Also, the male lead continuously showing his money off throughout the show was an ick for me.
The female leads feelings towards male lead felt and forced and not genuine, it wasn't really convincing. Though she's a good actress, the male lead brought her down in my opinion. I saw little to no attraction or chemistry between leads.
As for the plot, it's a standard predictable story with many popular tropes. Even so, the plot weakens halfway which made it hard to complete the drama.
I'm sure this is the first drama for the people who have given it high ratings. No shame in thinking this drama is good, but the flaws outweigh the positives heavily and clearly. Unfortunately, i'd never rewatch this and would tell others to pass.

Selena & Seo Jun = best characters!
This K-Drama is certainly not amazing. The lack of character development from the main character is irritating. In general, she isn't that lovable. She doesn't come to terms with anything and she doesn't help herself either.
Sohoo isn't bad, he's the regular reserved heartthrob, but he comes off as a bit emotionless to me. I wasn't a big fan as I'm not into this type of guys but he was cute for the most part.
Seo-Jun had the best character development and personality. He was attractive and had a lot to offer. But in my opinion, he deserves someone better than Ju Kyung.
Selena! I loved her! Sassiness but controlling, yet fair and direct. I would ONLY watch a season 2 if it included a make up artist - idol relationship with her and seojun!
Something I have to mention, I enjoyed the side stories. Which isn't usual sometimes they can be a bore. But I loved the sister so much! She was one of the best characters in this show. Her relationship with the teacher is so cute.
Overall, it's not a bad drama. It's worth a watch if you don't mind tropes and cheesy stuff. I was going to give it a 5, but that's kinda low and a 7 is too high.
That '90s Show (2023)
Cute but lacks charm
While the show is still new and has a lot of potential, it has some problems that can be fixed. I'm a big fan of the original, and the remade theme song doesn't sound fun, it sounds annoying honestly. I enjoy the shorter theme but it should be the whole group singing it or just something totally new.
Not a big fan of the Ozzie kid, his character feels so forced and awkward. The characters are plenty and that makes it hard for them to grow on the viewer.
Also did not make sense to me that the OG group are not in contact with each other, how would neither Donna or Red know about Jay? The writing seems a bit weak on most parts but still good with Kitty and Red luckily. Bob was good too.
I would watch season 2, the show just needs WAY MORE '90s vibes. It does not radiate any 1990's energy whatsoever. Not the music, looks, decor, outfits. They need to work more on that and have the show exude that period's energy just like the original did for the '70s!
American Housewife (2016)
Fun Sitcom! Sad to see it go!
I've been watching AH for a few years now with my family, we loved it. Eventful with charming characters that you can't help but be attached to. Love the storyline and even the supporting characters.
So sad to see it got cancelled. It deserved one more season especially with that finale! I think I'm gonna stop watching ABC shows because they keep canceling their good ones.
Ignore the hate reviews and watch this easygoing, fun sitcom with your family, you'll love it.
Encanto (2021)
Unique, Real, Magical
DO NOT miss this movie! Great story, lovable characters and gorgeous animation! Not to mention the great cultural and visual representation.
The music was absolutely amazing with each song being different than the other. The accuracy in the costuming and character design and cultural elements is wonderful.
The character diversity is one of my favorite things about this movie where every character is completely different and there is not one boring character!
The story is lighthearted, but it is one of the few Disney movies that show family trauma within it. Unique movie. Easily could watch it again and again. Loved it.
