Every Disney Movie Reviewed (#1)
3 January 2024
As you probably know, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was Disney's first dive into the world of feature-length movies, and for what it is... it's pretty good. I'm not head-over-heels in love with this movie like some other people may be, mostly because Disney didn't really master stretching a story out to a full hour-and-a-half as they would later on, but I still think this movie's great. The animation has aged incredibly well, especially considering this was only 9 years after Steamboat Willie, you can definitely see the improvements. As for the story, it does have one, but a lot more focus is put on admittedly entertaining scenes that really only exist to pad out the runtime. The pacing is definitely the movie's major problem, as you've probably heard a lot of others say. The characters are alright. The dwarves are definitely the most entertaining and dynamic characters, a lot of the movie's comedy come from them. But Snow White and the Queen are pretty bland. And Snow White's rotoscoped face is the only bit of animation that has not aged well here, it just looks uncanny. Music has always been a staple for Disney movies, and this one has some pretty good songs, especially Whistle While You Work and Heigh-Ho. Oh yeah, and the ending is really abrupt. But honestly, despite its flaws, this was quite a strong start to the Disney Animated Canon, and to Disney movies as a whole. 8/10.

Looney Tunes' very first masterpiece!
10 June 2023
Porky in Wackyland is a real creative feat in animation history, as, besides for maybe some of the Fleischer cartoons, there wasn't much like this at the time, as most cartoons were cutesy and trying to replicate that of Disney. The story is fairly simple, Porky travels to a land where anything can happen in search of the extinct Do-Do Bird, and it gives way for Bob Clampett to go completely insane and animate whatever weird and wacky thing comes to his mind. This cartoon doesn't need that much explanation as to why it's so great, it's creative, fun, and has an amazing energy, topped off with some good humor. Porky, while entertaining, isn't the reason this cartoon is great. His reactions to the bizarre world of Wackyland are amusing, but the word itself is what makes this such a fun watch, and the Do-Do is a really fun character, and I won't spoil the ending, but it's hilarious, in a sort of cruel way.

Peak Bob Clampett insanity
7 June 2023
The Great Piggy Bank Robbery is another one of those Looney Tunes cartoons that are just FUN. Bob Clampett is one of those Looney Tunes directors that perfectly nails the pure energy and anarchy that we all know and love Looney Tunes for, and he's one of my personal favorites. Daffy is his typical 40's screwball self in this one, and his voice acting is amazing, as well as being fun to watch. The backgrounds and art are stunningly wacky and creative, and all the different villains Daffy goes up against are super inventive and visually interesting. The gags are as to be expected, hilarious, and overall makes this a phenomenally zany and absurd cartoon that's just a blast all the way through. Watch if you can, it's a masterpiece, 10/10.

Baseball Bugs (1946)

One of Bugs' all-time greatest!
5 June 2023
Yet another Bugs Bunny cartoon that I adore to pieces, and can't really find many flaws or issues with. There is a story, but the majority of the cartoon is just excuses to tell really hilarious baseball gags, which works just fine. Bugs' is at the top of his game, with the perfect laidback and carefree personality that we all love the character for. All the gags are funny, such as the conga line gag, the pinball machine gag, the slow ball gag, among others. Not a single gag misses, they're all fantastic. The ending doesn't really connect much to the rest of the cartoon, but it's so out-of-nowhere and bizarre that it doesn't ruin the cartoon by any stretch of the imagination. Just an iconic Bugs Bunny classic through and through. 10/10.

Hilarious masterpiece with phenomenal musical timing
1 June 2023
For my second review of a classic cartoon, I'll be going over my second favorite short (my first favorite being Duck Amuck, of course). This was the first Looney Tunes cartoon I ever saw, and it's still amazing even all this time later. The gags are constantly firing, all hilarious, the music is timed perfectly with the movements, the energy is fast-paced and zany, everything just flows together perfectly into a really good package, and one of the all-time best cartoons of all time, in my personal opinion. As to be expected, Bugs and Elmer's dynamic is amazing, and despite being mostly silent, save for a few lyrics set to the music, they still bounce off of each other amazingly. I could not recommend this enough, 10/10.

Truly one of the most iconic animated shorts of all time
1 June 2023
This is the beginning of a potential series of IMDb cartoon reviews, and I thought where better to start than the cartoon often regarded as Looney Tunes finest, and for VERY good reason. Unless you're completely unfamiliar or don't watch Looney Tunes, chances are you've seen this one. It's probably one of the most aired Looney Tunes shorts in the modern day. This cartoon has been praised to heck and back, and once again, I can completely see why. This cartoon is just hilarious, fun, creative, and packed with amazing gag after amazing gag. The flaws in this cartoon are practically non-existent, and it delves into post-modernism, that, while having been explored before in Looney Tunes shorts, this one takes the fullest advantage of the post-modernism. Daffy, being my favorite Looney Tunes character, also really shines here as a great protagonist, and the ending is hilarious and iconic, but I won't spoil it in case you haven't seen it. 10/10 for sure, it's just classic.

Fun and action-packed movie for any Mario fan!
5 April 2023
While Illumination isn't known for making the strongest animated movies, The Super Mario Bros Movie is by far their best so far, rivaled only by the original Despicable Me. The animation in the movie was superb, the voice actors all did a surprisingly good job (especially Jack Black, who did really well as a hammy comedic villain), and, while it isn't a laugh riot or anything, there was still some good jokes that made me laugh. The references to the Mario games (which I won't spoil here for you to find on your own) are well integrated, and while some are a tad forced, it was still really cool to see these things return. All in all, it was a really fun time, and I'd recommend this to any Mario fan, or just someone who's looking for a fun animated movie.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Squidferatu/Slappy Daze (2022)
Season 13, Episode 11

The Best SpongeBob episode in a while!
14 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Season 13 of SpongeBob has been mostly average so far, with some good episodes, but not nearly as many as Seasons 12, 11 or 10. But this episode in particular was super funny, interesting, and had a great atmosphere and visuals. Squidferatu was a fantastic Halloween episode featuring SpongeBob and Squidward getting lost in Nosferatu the vampire's castle. At first I thought it was going to be whatever, but it turned out to be a great episode, probably the best episode of S13 so far. Slappy Daze was alright, not as great as Squidferatu, but still had great visuals and some good gags I liked. Overall, this episode is easily worth your time and a fun SpongeBob Halloween special.

It's not abysmal...
18 June 2022
I have... mixed opinions of Kamp Koral. I don't think it's a very good spin-off, or a very show on it's own. It doesn't do anything objectively terrible, it just... doesn't do anything. It doesn't stand out, it isn't unique or really different in any way from the main SpongeBob series. Literally all of these plots could be done in the main series. It's actually the same show but CGI and at a different setting, which I guess is neat, but once again the show is very dull and not a lot happens. The episodes aren't memorable, and while there are a few pretty decent episodes, a lot of them blend it with one another and do absolutely nothing with what they're given. The CGI kind of makes this seem like a preschool show, despite being intended for the same age as SpongeBob (6 and older), it just feels younger, I guess because the characters are younger. That's the thing that made SpongeBob so charming, that he was an adult that wasn't afraid to embrace his inner child, but making SpongeBob actually be a child, kind of makes it less charming. Also, all the characters are exactly the same as they are in the main series, SpongeBob is enthusiastic, Patrick is an idiot, Sandy is a scientist, Squidward is grumpy, etc. Now, to be fair, they do address the "drama" about this show going against Season 1 Episode 1C: "Tea at the Treedome" and having Sandy and SpongeBob meet at summer camp as kids instead of as adults, with this show canonically taking place in another universe. Also, the humor is pretty much the same as the main series. And it's not even that funny. Now, don't get me wrong, I really like modern SpongeBob. I do like the first 4 seasons best, but modern SpongeBob is still really good, but KK feels like modern SpongeBob, but it's just every bad, dull episode. So basically, while I don't despise this show, it isn't great. Watch the Patrick Star Show for a better spin-off.

Where's the sequel?
30 May 2022
Honestly, man walking around the corner was a pretty good film, speaking as a film critic. Watched it back in the 1880's with my family, pumped for the premiere. Was not disappointed. It's exactly what it says on the tin, and to be honest, the titular man walking around the corner is a pretty endearing character and his arc of walking around the corner is pretty interesting and well developed. Overall, this film is a solid watch and I would definitely recommend checking it out. 9/10 please pick it up when you get the chance (unfortunately no streaming services have this film)

Absolutely phenomenal
22 May 2022
This movie is so creative, well-animated and just fantastic. The people who worked on this movie worked extremely hard and the animation in the different scenes uses a variety of different art styles and media. The original SpongeBob movie (2004) is beloved by so many people, and this movie pays homage to the original without feeling too much like the original and feeling like the same thing. Check this movie out, it's on YouTube, and I really enjoyed it!
