Blah, blah, blah
2 April 2023
I agree with the other comments about this story could have been soooo much better, compelling, sensational, etc , if Grandma had stop hogging the story and making it more about her. "I did this", I was there", "he like flirting with me"...blah, blah, blah...smh.

Not making any excuses for what the "monster" did, but its clear that this woman was trying to relive her 15 mins of fame in front of a new set of cameras. I applaud her "mommy sense" for picking up on the small hints Jared was dropping, but the story gets a little over dramatic and drawn out, in my opinion, in how she presented what she was doing in discovering/gathering evidence against Jared.

Just tell us what happened and how this man was put behind bars for his crime(s). Its not about you.

Stupid Goofy Funny and Good!
18 July 2022
Recently watched this one again and it made me laff out loud.

The story is predictable and the cliches abound.

I loved all the urban rainbow (Black, Brown, Yellow and White) celebs that did their cameo scenes. For what it is, this was good enough.

Enjoy it for what it is -- BIG FUN!

No Top Gun, but...
7 June 2022
This movie is better than the rating it received so far.

Yeah, some of the actors are a bit over the top, but the the combat sequences are good enough to keep you watching.

Also, if you are into WWII era warplanes, this is a good watch.

Better than expected!

I almost skipped this one, but it was late at night and I said what the hell... Loved the goofy way they told the story of America's birth mixing in modern parodies and symbolism (like the big VIETNAM store front sign with them saying "we shouldn't go in there", "we can't win"...) and the homage to Star Wars in the final battle.

After the battle, reality set in and the people started asking for the promises made to be kept.

We the people are still waiting.

Good job Guys!

Big Fun!

This is Pirates of the Caribbean - Asian style!

You need the English subtitles if your Korean is a little rusty. Good story and camerawork with the obligatory CGI. The actors fit their roles pretty well. All in all it gives Jack sparrow a run for his money and definitely worth a watch.

Pure Fun!

Why do people continue to not give Eddie his due? Dreamgirls, Dolemite, and now Coming 2 America. This movie was great! I liked the music, the story, and how they mixed in the original characters with the new generation and made it all work. Mister Brewer has become one of my favorite directors in the way he tells a story.

Wesley Snipes was hilarious, as was Leslie Jones, and Tracy Morgan! It was great to see James Earl Jones, Gladys night, and Morgan Freeman among others add their chops in their brief cameo appearances. Of course, Eddie and Arsenio reprising their multi-character roles from the original was almost mandatory and it fit seamlessly. This movie deserves a much higher rating IMHO. It was well worth the wait.

Burt Lives on!-
19 October 2020
You're either a fan or you are not. Its corny, its predictable, cheesy, stupid, and just plain fun. These wannabe critics trying to dissect each and every nuance of the movie(s) make me want to puke. Its hard enough to make a decent sequel, but six that seem the same only different (ala Tommy Chong). Take the movie for what it is and enjoy this updated monster stomp!

Will Burt return for another graboid beatdown? Stay Tuned.

The Great War (2019)

Nice Try
17 December 2019
I gave this movie a decent rating for the the subject matter that is rarely addressed in this conflict, and the I believe, period correct uniforms and weps, but the execution left a lot to be desired. The enlisted personnel were borderline insubordinate in their dialogue with the officers. Especially, when Sgt. Perry first met Cpt. Rivers and he informed the sergeant of his mission. The battle scenes were some of the clearest and cleanest I have ever seen in a war movie. No blood, no shell casings, no debris, no smoke, no mud, no rats, nor rotting bodies in the trenches...there was even a scene where the machine gun feed belt stopped moving but the gun kept on spitting out bullets.. a technique that we have yet to duplicate in today's weapons. And, of course, the reconciliation of the races before the climatic battle scene....Cpt Rivers why are you digging foxholes while the black privates are standing around pretending to be perimeter guards a few feet away? The "fix bayonets" charge reminds of Jeff Daniels' boys in "Gettysburg". And yes, "Saving Private Ryan" theme music dances in my head after the battle is over and during the Captain's final scene (he even sits in a similar position as Tom Hanks). If you gonna imitate, imitate the best! Nice try and worth a watch.

YAWN!!!
6 June 2019
Been a fan since the 1954 original and even accepted the '98 version, but this one.... I fell asleep, woke up and then went back to sleep. Couldn't stand the wise-cracking Bradley Whitford character in this. Dark, boring and generally predictable...(yawn). The battle scenes were just OK and why all the close-up/night/dark fighting? I hope they did a better job writing and casting for Kong vs Godzilla...this franchise has such potential if the execs would stick to basics that made Big-G into the icon that he has become.

Throwdown (2014)

Better than expected

I'm a fan of Danny Trejo and this movie caught my interest because of him. I was pleasantly surprised that as the film went on, I became interested in the story and wanted to see how it turned out. Without giving away any spoilers, I liked the way Tim Woodward and Vinnie Jones carried off their roles. Mr. Jones is increasingly solid in his roles as the sinister gangster/villain. Mr. Trejo had a smaller part and does what he does in character. The film had a good pace to it and didn't drag on and on like most in the genre. Be sure to watch the ENTIRE movie (beyond the credits)! IMO this film deserves more than than the mediocre rating it has received thus far. This one was worth the watch for me.
