Cobra Kai (2018–2025)

overexaggerated
30 August 2023
The series went great. 1st episode was kind of trashy ,but give us the perspective of Jhonny. I love that Netflix gathered all the original actors from Karate Kid ,but there are lots of things that are messed up.

Nobody would put another child before his. Sp the fact that Jhonny went to Miguel rather than Robby is unrealistic.

The whole idea of 2 karate dojo teens fighting up each other because of rivalry is a total fiction. But the biggest fiction is that in real life ,Kreese would've been in jail long gone and the dojo would've always been on Jhonny's name.

Lots of the fights are just total fiction. Mostly the one at the school where Miguel becomes paralyzed on a wheelchair. No school would allow that , even American.

Had the potential ,but as always Netlfix has to ruin it.

Vacation (I) (2015)
9/10
underrated
22 August 2023
Seriously, if everyone would just chill tfo about wanting to compare this version with the original version, you would find this movie is hilarious. First time in years I didn't want to punch Ed Helms in the face after watching him in a movie. The two actors who play the boys in the movie are great. But the gem and queen of this movie is Christina Applegate.

All in all, a really funny movie, a lot better than internet trolls have shown it. I just hope the 100 million worldwide gross will generate a remake of Xmas Vacation.

I will admit that Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day, Kaitlyn Olson, Michael Pena, Nick Kroll, either Key or Peele, are great in their own small role way. However, this movie does not provide the Cousin Ed role made famous by Canadian truffle sniffer Randy Quaid.

Mr. Nice Guy (1997)

Yeah

This is one of the old Jackie Chan movies, where he was still rising as an acting hollywood star. Here he for sure exercised his comedy action genre of a movie.

The story is great and interesting. Pretty original ,even tho he usually falls into the same situation of them wanting the tape and him not having it.

The first fighting scene was really long and the last smashing with the big destroyer truck as well. I think those 2 could've been shortened ,even tho I am watching the movie for it's fighting scenes and liked the fact that the first one is a lot longer than the others. Should've been nominated for Oscar.

The Foreigner (I) (2017)

Surprising

'The Foreigner' is more of a sad story. It's not the typical Jackie Chan comedy ,action movie. It's dramatic and melancholic ,which ....not gonna lie i didn't really like. Most of the time things were blend ,grey and focused on grief. We still see Jackie at 60 throwing amazing kicks tho, but is crazy to think how he went from what he was to what he is here now.

The fighting scenes weren't as creative as before. Te story and the plot was great ,as well as the acting. VFX were nicely done ,especially the blood and lighting contrast. I prefer the funny active Jackie, but I know we won't see him for long.

I'm not one to watch much anime nor one to "review" but this one in particular prompted me to do so. It had me hooked from the first episode then sold me completely by the 2nd. The animation, the fight scenes, the humor, both opening and closing songs, everything about it is just so so good. Highly recommend! Furious 7 (2015)

RIP paul
21 August 2023
The Fast and the Furious series consist of 7 movies soon to be 8, starring The Rock-Dwayne Johnson in the last 3 movies, Vin Diesel- The voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, and the late Paul Walker who has been in many action movies, along with Gal Gadot who is set to play Wonder Woman in the line of DC comics movies unfortunately Gal Gadot's character Chazelle died in Fast and Furious 6 , Michelle Rodriguez, Tyreese Gibson from Transformers, Ludicrous is a musician as well as an actor, Jordana Brewster and the antagonist is Deckard Shaw played by Jason Statham who has been in one million and one action movies. For those who have seen Fast and Furious 6 the perpetrator of those events is Owen Shaw played by Luke Evans who is in Immortals, The Hobbit the Desolation of Smaug, The Battle of the Armies, Deckard is Owen's older brother out for revenge, because Dominic Torreto's (Vin Diesel) team put Owen in the hospital. Fast and Furious 7 is packed full of action stunts that are bigger than the last movie, that take you to multiple countries all around the world, America, Abu Dhabi, Canada and multiple locations in USA. After Deckard Shaw is placed in solitary confinement in one of the most secure facilities, the team are on a beach with all their new cars lined up behind them, because of Paul Walker's death, the makers of the movie changed the ending. Dominic knows Brian O Conner (Paul Walker) doesn't belong with him anymore because he has a wife, one child and another on the way. Dominic drives off and leaves Brian behind, you see him in his car driving off into the distance when Brian now played by Paul's brother Cody Walker and some added effects, Brian says "You thought you could leave without saying goodbye". Dom smiles then they go their separate ways when the road forks. This ending wasn't just about Dom saying goodbye to Brian, it was about Vin saying goodbye to Paul, then the credits open with ' See you again' by Charlie Puth and Wiz Kalihifa, this song is a tribute to Paul Walker.

Somewhere in the multiverse, there's a better version of this movie that exists.

The overall pacing is relentless and the sequel shows its hand a lot earlier than you'd expect. There's been endless speculation from fans about the villain, which i won't spoil here, but it's revealed surprisingly quickly.

You can't help that feel somewhere in the multiverse, there's a better version of this movie that exists.

The Looney Tunes Show (2011–2015)
10/10
Classics
21 August 2023
What are y'all frowning about? Y'all like gumball but dont like this? This show is pretty much it. It's not always about setting up a trap or a trap twist to have laughs at. Sure it is what makes the looney tunes brand but also the way how their personalities work on this show is cohesive and makes up for it. It's new, it's different, it's innovative, it's modern, it's aimed at teens and pre teens and pretty sure it appeals to some of the adults with the personality stereotypes it has and its genius well put together written script and puns. Also they dont animate them like this anymore.........

Chowder (2007–2010)

Among the best
21 August 2023
I have no problem with the review done on Chowder, but I question the accuracy of whoever put the data together. I am wondering why some of the voice actors get credit for over 60 episodes? Season 1 and 2 had 20 episodes, I have looked everywhere I could find information on this series, and could not find any mention of there being 60 or more episodes. Season 3 had 9, and there were 3 commercials done, adding up to 52. Are there some episodes unaccounted for and/or unaired? I love Chowder, and wish it was still on air, with new episodes... Is there some compelling reason it left us so quickly? Genius work! Mung Daal is my favorite character btw.

Ben 10: Race Against Time (2007 TV Movie)
7/10
VFX went crazy
21 August 2023
Well, I saw the commercials and they made it seem like "Ben Ten Race Against Time" would have potential. I saw the Ben Ten movie that CN made prior to Against Time, which was "Mystery of the Omnitrix" or something to that extent. Mystery of the Omnitrix was very good, and in many ways touching... so I figured that Against Time would be worth a watch.

The effects were good... for a TV movie. It was very hard for me to turn the channel as I sat through the attempt at effects and poor attempt at the actors trying to interact with the CG aliens. I had to keep reminding myself "TV MOVIE TV MOVIE TV MOVIE"

Another thing I had a problem with was the fact that only a few months before Cartoon Network released "Mystery of the Omnitrix" as a TV movie, and it was animated. Then they release a live action Ben Ten? What will the third movie be? I think that was a poor consistency move on not only Cartoon Network but also the producers of the Ben Ten series.

Ben 10: Alien Swarm (2009 TV Movie)
7/10
Love it perhaps the hate
21 August 2023
After the entertaining but horrendously executed "Ben 10: Race Against Time", Ben 10: Alien Swarm is a huge improvement. Not only does it boast higher production values and better directing, but it effectively captures both the look and the spirit of the original animated series in live action form. The movie also manages to up the ante on the action, making for a truly epic story but with a couple of flaws.

Set after the events of the "Ben 10: Alien Force" animated series, the movie starts with the main characters Ben, Gwen and Kevin about to bust some illegal dealers who are trying to sell alien nanotechnology. One of those dealers is revealed to be Elena Validus, a childhood friend of Ben and daughter of a disgraced ex-"PLUMBER" Victor Validus. (For those who have not watched the animated series, "PLUMBERS" are an anti-alien defense agency). Now her father has mysteriously gone missing and Elena needs Ben's help. Suddenly the alien technology springs to life and takes the form of a vast mechanical swarm. Following a brief scuffle with the swarm and a short malfunction of Ben's omnitrix, our heroes must uncover a secret alien plot to turn human beings into mindless drones. One lead lies in an old secret involving Victor Validus and Ben's own Grandpa Max.

Ben 10: Omniverse (2012–2014)
8/10
3rd sequel
21 August 2023
I have no spoilers, but I do carry a trained eye towards formal reviews, and to a point I agree with the other reviews posted: This is a new show. This is a show attempting to repair the mishaps of the previous eras. Again, I am speaking from a trained eye. B10: Aliens and Ultimate Alien was filled with daily plot holes, faulty characterization follow- ups, a rapidly increasing sense of hasty generalization towards the crowd, and a bizarre singular romantic standpoint. What I admire about the brains and brawn behind Omniverse is the strength to attempt patching up what was lacking in existence. I have already gotten into details how this show repairs the Ben 10 Franchise, and thus I will not do it again. The art is a unique style to which people are judging because it is "less than up to par with the last incarnations" - no offense my friends, but that is evolution. That is the process of change, and accepting this change takes a while but it is solid and well built. Each episode can stand on its own as comical, meaningful, and in some minor sense inspirational. Ben 10 became a teenager who was arrogant, self-obsessed, and fairly cocky in Aliens and UA. Oh but wait, in the blink of an eye he'd turn 180* and be heart-to-heart and fully cognitive of the threats at hand; that doesn't settle well with me as a student teacher for disabled children - I do not want them to learn ideas of false identity. They have enough of that in the real world, why is the flip-flop occurring now in their dreams?

Generator Rex (2010–2013)
10/10
not golden but diamond
21 August 2023
In terms of storytelling, Generator Rex exhibits a quality not often seen in children's shows, especially in the modern day. In a day and age when good story has been increasingly forfeited to low-brow comedy and memes (i.e. The Ben 10 reboot), Generator Rex is a reminder of the fact that kids can handle complex, emotional, and quality storytelling. For all three seasons, Generator Rex develops a consistent and overarching plot filled with mystery, discovery, and character development that leads to a fully satisfying conclusion. It's the very best of what action cartoons can be.

Generator Rex's pacing is good, and each episode is satisfying and exciting, and most of them contribute to the overall plot. However, even "filler" episodes were filled with charm thanks to the series' humor, fantastic characters, and quality animation and action sequences. Man of Action, known for creating Ben 10 and Big Hero 6, truly let their skill shine in this series. It's worthwhile to watch through the entire show to discover all of its secrets and experience the emotional journey of its characters, especially Rex. Even if you're not looking for plot, expect good laughs, excitement, atmosphere, and music abounding in this wonderful show. I consider it to be one of the best animated action series of this decade, and though this is merely my opinion, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't think of Generator Rex as a solid, interesting, and fun cartoon all the way through.

Ben 10: Alien Force (2008–2010)

most favourite of all
21 August 2023
This is one of my favorite cartoon TV series... why? Because my kids enjoy it like nothing else and with them I get glued to the TV too! Haha.. but yeah it's true.

I like the characters - the aliens, the plumbers, the Vilgax and all. Especially Humungousaur, my younger one's favorite! My kids are so addicted that even after watching the episodes, they have to play Ben 10 Games too! Hats off to the creators.

This type of Ben 10 is the one representing the lat eteen problems ,where he has a lot to choose between his personal life and a life of a hero. It is a dramatic , romantic and comedic adventure.

Childhood

Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is a very interesting piece indeed. It is extremely creative and funny, a combination of wit and humor. The storyline follows an eight year old boy named Mac (yes, he's eight, mistakes in the plot section) must give up his beloved imaginary friend, Blooregard Q. Kazoo, because his mother believes he has outgrown him, and Mac's older brother Terrence treats Mac like a baby. Mac stumbles across a large house belonging to Madame Foster, a childish old lady and her imaginary rabbit friend, Mr. Herriman, who keeps the place in schedule.

Bloo realizes that if he is put in Foster's, he would be up for adoption like the rest of the Imaginary Friends at Foster's, but in the end, Madame Foster allows him to stay in Foster's without being adopted,

Nanny McPhee (2005)

Classic
21 August 2023
Nanny McFee is such a huge classic in the movie industry and for a reason. It has a creative view on to the purpose of good child behaviour. My mom used to watch this when she was a child ,so did my aunt.

Emma Thompson as Nany McFee is the best choice they could make ,yet the most surprising. I could never imagine Emma Thompson wtih such make up in such a way. She does look really different from hersel.

The plot is 10/10 ,classical, educational, great and recommended for kids. Kind of basic ,but it's a classic ,so "basics" came OUT of it.

The acting: we don't even have to comment. The kids did a great job.

amazing

Jackie Chan had never had a box office hit in America despite starring in Hollywood films such as 'Battle Creek Brawl' and 'The Protector' in the 1980s. 'Rumble in the Bronx' was a Hong Kong made film, but they wanted it to have international appeal and achieved this through its New York setting and American background characters. The film intended to introduce Jackie Chan to the West, and that's exactly what it did - but they didn't expect it to be a number one box office hit.

The story involves Keung (Jackie Chan) coming over to America to visit his Uncle who owns a grocery store in the Bronx. Soon enough a biker gang turns up and causes havoc at the store, so it's up to Keung to fend off the bad guys, uncover police corruption, and generally save the day in style.

This is a high energy film and the pace never lets up, there isn't one big set piece in this film there are many big set pieces, but the most impressive stunt has to be the one where Jackie jumps from the top of a multi-storey car park onto a small balcony across the road. The multiple camera set up shows us that there is no safety netting or use of wires - just Jackie entrusting his own life in his own abilities.

Freaky Friday (2003)

Amazing
20 August 2023
I enjoyed this film, and I do slightly prefer it to the Jodie Foster version. True, the first 15 minutes were a bit slow, and some of the script was a bit weak, not to mention the rather predictable storyline. But you know what, the performances of Lindsey Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis more than compensated, their performances were really entertaining, and I felt the chemistry between them. I loved the soundtrack, and I thought it was very sensible updating the story, so that it would appeal more to someone like my 13 year old sister, who really enjoyed it. The script, while contrived in some places, was on the whole, very funny, and anyone who's seen the 1976 film, will get a more of the same film, except updated. What I did like, is that Lohan's character is a representation of all of us, someone who doesn't do mornings, doesn't always get on with her mum, and has friends and enemies. In the 1976 version, Jodie Foster's interpretation was more sensible than Lohan's, who put a bit of her other films in, which is quite appealing for this sort of film. Overall, an enjoyable film, with a 7/10.

Everybody knows when you mention them the title "10 Things I Hate About You". It's an old classic romantic movie. As some of the reviews express it: A modern Shakespears teen rom com.

The plot is simple yet creative, a guy has to go out with a girl as a bet. When she finds out she dumps him ,but he makes his way to apologize and wins her back again. The movie title is mentioned as a poem written by her

The acting... we don't even have to comment here, you have Heath Ledger ,a legend in the movie industry and hollywood ,so you can expect nothing else ,but surprises by the movie. You forget that it's actually a movie for a moment!

The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017)
10/10
Best series ever
20 August 2023
The series is my favourite for several reasons: There is always something happening so you can never take your eyes off of it.

It has a twisted strange and always moving story.

Acting is just spectacular , you cannot tell me that Ian and Paul are bad actors ,so is Nina Dobrev?

The series is long enough to forget everything and go again for it ,so you can always rewatch it ,without feeling bored out of it! It is one of the most popular series ever and yes there are some cliches in the start ,but doesn't every series?

This series is such an amazing thing that I don't even know how to explain it!

Bride Wars (2009)
5/10
just copied
4 August 2023
I believe this is what truly defines a 'girly' movie... It obviously about brides and whatever stuff they love and need, and from what I can figure most of the women (including the 4 women that dragged me there) in the theater enjoyed it.

I do agree it is an original idea and does give esp the males out there the sheer intensity of how important this occasion is for women, and also to a certain extent why women may make good friends but the worst of enemies.

Overall I give it a 6 on 10 due to a lot of predictability and clichés but I did like the chemistry of the 2 leads stars, the others characters seemed rather bland in fact entirely devoid of personality.

Perhaps the only scene for men to enjoy is the bachelorette party - you 'll see - ;) Hathaway looks smokin' hot.

Warning: Spoilers
I see,... it's the typical adventure family comedy holiday movie ,but it has a special place in my heart ,since I've always adored the series Good Luck Charlie!

This movie was so interesting to me when I was 12 ,that you can have no idea. It might not be that great or that fantastic, but it does have something that only a Disney movie would have, which makes it so special.

It has some character to it since Teddy and her mom have a fight at some point and have to get along together and then you have Bob's problems with the parents of his wife. I personally love the comedy and holiday family vibe.

16 Wishes (2010 TV Movie)

Childhood movie
2 August 2023
For every 2006 kid that usually switched on Disney channel, this is THE childhood movie.

I remember them replaying it usually and I've always watched it because of Debby Ryan , because I started missing Jessie i little bit too much.

The story has an interesting point. Kind of stolen from their original cartoons such as Snow White and Cinderella.

The acting is on top for a kids movie from the 2000s'

The idea of having your 16 wishes throughout a whole day of adventures then suddenly ending up being 21 doesn't really add up to me much ,but I guess it still works ,since it shows how good it is to be a child.

Crazy
1 August 2023
This movie was absolutely epic. So many plot twists ,so many places to turn your head around and back. There were things I never expected in such movie.

It all started as a chill racing war from "2 Fast 2 Furious" and we went to this. Big and totally wild.

The plot following the franchise is absolutely amazing and wired ,but I still can't understand... why is everything about "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift"? There is just always something about Tokyo.

I think that there is no way to even comment how good the acting is ,with the fact that we have such actors on screen. This is my new fav movie.

There is no way to hate this movie. Maybe only if you watched it too much when they repeated it onto the television and it became annoying

This is a classic action movie with our classic known Jason Statem ,who ceases to amaze us with his incredible (and scary) acting.

The plot: 8/10. Classical kidnapping that turns into the hero of the day ,a bit unrealistic and too fantastic ,but still good enough.

The acting: 10/10 we have Jason Statem in there ,of course he is going to make the whole movie a huge success and you won't even think that this is an actor ,you will be totally into the movie and forget about everything else.
