Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (2023)
An exceptionally emotional episode
I was not ready for this episode, I don't think anybody is going to be going into it blind.
Let me start with the obvious, above board 11/10 performance by both Christina Chong (La'an) and Paul Wesley (T. Kirk). The depth of emotions explored by these two, and the way it was uniquely presented in a completely new yet familiar fashion is something that will mark this episode for me as the most emotionally challenging episode in the history of Star Trek series since TNG.
Paul Wesley delivered T. Kirk for me a in a way that I am going to have trouble not having him around for every episode or in his own show.
Christina Chong was the soul of this episode, I have never been touched by someone's emotional acting performance before but the ending had me shedding tears with her.
I wish there was a spin off of these two as the agents working to save the timeline outside the show while maintaining their current show.
Star Trek Strange New Worlds has managed to do what all the other Star Trek shows have missed to deliver since Star Trek TNG/Picard. That is to deliver the same quality and improve on it.
I am still speechless and dumbfounded by the fact that I didn't realise how many other good actors and actresses this show offers alongside the main actors/actresses.
I cannot wait for the next episode, Christina and Paul better be getting that drink soon.
Fate: The Winx Saga: To the Waters and the Wild (2021)
Full blown sexism
Lasted all by 6 minutes before I got to realise this is another woke series that does nothing but attack men.
Full blown sexism by the lead female character attacking a guy. She straight up went for the "mansplaining". Disgusting!
All the guys need to band together and put an end to this onslaught against men. It's not okay to be sexist towards men. Boycott this series and don't watch it. The writer and the director of this terrible series needs to get cancelled.
I'm surprised that Netflix okayed this given how terrible they are doing financially. I am going to cancel my Netflix subscription. I won't stand for this nonsense.
Prey (2022)
This was a pleasant surprise
The first 15 minutes of the movie suffers from a bad pacing issue to get you acquainted with the backstory but afterwards the pace is fine and the movie overall is very enjoyable.
The planning, execution, and ending were all believable within the plot line and it was well thought through.
Bonus: there is a dog and he is a very good boy.
The Orville: Future Unknown (2022)
Perfect season finale
It had everything a finale needed, this season was perfect and finished on a high note without any cliffhangers that usually don't make much sense. I cannot wait to see what season 4 brings and how they are going to recreate the magic again.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Justice For Johnny Depp
Justice For Johnny Depp, this comes in the form of him being saved from acting in this terrible movie.
The pace was so slow, at some point I was wondering if I was watching a documentary in a poorly lit environment. Intensity is something that only exists for a moment and then nothing for the whole film. The visuals were alright.
I could not finish the whole movie, really tried but I just couldn't, it was THAT boring!
The Orville: Domino (2022)
An episode that felt like a complete movie
Half way through the episode, it suddenly hit me, I felt like I was watching a blockbuster movie with a £200m budget. Everything was done to perfection, the acting and the story was above and beyond anything ever shown before.
Without spoiling anything, this episode came across as if the whole thing felt personal to every actor and actress. I do not believe this show will ever be able to top this episode.
I'm just blown away, everything was 11/10.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Spock Amok (2022)
Standard Filler Episode Done Properly
This was a great filler episode that picked up where Spock left his personal life.
Despite it being a filler episode that explored characters' linear relationship amongst the crew, it was done right. The visuals are 10/10 and something that keeps the magic going throughout the episode.
I would enjoy more fillers like this if they rotate between different crew members and let us get to know them on a more personal level. I wouldn't want more fillers if they intent to only produce 10 episode per season. Fillers like this would go nicely with a 16-20 episode season.
Captain Pike's performance and admiral's acting was disappointing throughout this episode, they felt off and not like their usual self, as if they were too comfortable and forgot their mannerism.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Memento Mori (2022)
The perfect episode!
I am a huge fan of the Star Trek series and have been for the past 20+ years. I also love the video games they made, especially the Star Trek Online. The animation series (lower deck) is also incredible.
The Strange New World series and especially this episode managed to gather all the great things from the shows mentioned above and reproduce them in a new and exciting way.
The attention to the details is an intricate job that needs the right amount for each scene and they managed it super well. For the very first time, you cannot choose a favourite actor/actress out of the crew! Every single one of them act like they are the superstar of the show and it shows. Even the ensign that died with 5 seconds of screen time managed to capture the emotion of the scene that it involved and made me remember him.
I do not want this show to get any better, I just want the same formula carried over for the next 10 season. Strange New World is going to replace The Next Generation for me if it manages to keep this amazing formula going.
Do not watch this show in 1080p, always make sure you are watching the 4K footage, it's worth it!
Star Trek: Picard: Hide and Seek (2022)
Terrible episode
I think this has to be the worst episode and the only episode out of the Star Trek Picard I've disliked so far.
Terrible pacing, cannot see anything, it's always dark! Terrible acting by Raffi per usual (why does she even exist?). Half the episode is terrible flashbacks that got boring two episodes ago. More fake cry and terrible acting by Raffi.
Do yourself a massive favour and skip this.
Star Trek: Picard: Monsters (2022)
Loved it!
I don't understand why there a re so many people leaving terrible reviews when this was one of the best episodes I've watched in a while!
Star Trek always comes with filler episode but I have never seen one that also managed to move the original plot while explaining a lot for things.
Don't trust the reviewers here and see the episode for yourself.
Star Trek: Picard: Assimilation (2022)
No longer Star Trek
It changed the whole feel of the show with this episode, I felt like I was watching a soap opera. The story moved nicely and had a good depth to it. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it much either.
I hope the next episode doesn't feel like this. It felt like I was watching Stargate Atlantis meet Star Trek.
Star Trek: Discovery: Coming Home (2022)
Good finish
It wasn't the perfect episode I hoped for but it wrapped it up nicely. Missed the chance to welcome 10C to the federation and show the updated translator, which would have been nice.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Perfection
This movie had everything I ever wanted and then some. It deserves the honourable 11/10 rating, loved the scene with all three.
I never through they would have the time to fit in so many great actors and iconic ones but they managed to give everyone a fair amount of screen time.
The Adam Project (2022)
Fun to watch
People need to take a chill pill. This was a fun movie to watch on a Friday afternoon with family. Highly recommended. Ryan is the heart of the movie for sure and made me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Star Trek: Picard: The Star Gazer (2022)
Felt right at home
Other have so elegantly pointed out how great this episode was. I don't remember the last time I was this happy watching an episode of Star Trek, this has been the best episode so far.
Hoping for many more to come!
