Dynasty (1981–1989)

Dynasty was awesome
15 January 2017
I loved Dynasty. I watched the show as a kid. Looking back on it, Dynasty was a great reflection on the Reagan/Thatcher years. In that era poverty had become almost taboo, so TV shows that focused on working class people or rural people disappeared in favor of shows about fabulously wealthy people. Dynasty was a part of that trend. Joan Collins was outrageously fantastic as Alexis. She made the show, and she gave life to Crystal's character as Crystal seemed like a quiet, low self esteem woman who couldn't stand up to Blake's daughter and SERVANTS of all people, until her fights with Alexis helped make her more outspoken.

Film was good, but could have been better
15 January 2017
I liked this film, but there were some reasons why I think it didn't do as good. I think that Lawrence sucked as Mystique. She didn't even get in any of Mystique's fight sequences. Just don't have Mystique in the next film. I'm glad Singer is not coming back either, because he has basically spent too much time on Eric and Charles. Lawrence's popularity brought Mystique up their level as it made Mystique as prominent in the franchise as Eric and Charles. But the problem with this is the younger cast members don't get to shine, as we don't see other mutant leaders. Emma Frost should be brought back.

I'm very interested in seeing X-Men: 7 (I heard this is about the Phoenix) and I'm glad they've decided to reconceptualize things. Lawrence isn't interested in coming back thank goodness, and they really don't need Fassbender back for this one either. There are just some changes that need to be made to the franchise to make it competitive with MCU. One is Singer leaving the films. He's just not that good at this genre.

X-Men: Apocalypse introduced characters that would be great in Deadpool or X-Force movies, like Psylocke and Angel.

The Show Isn't As Bad As Some People Say
15 January 2017
I do like the show, and it has it's moments. With that said, I agree that Tyler Perry needs serious creative input, and needs to loosen up some of the creative control. I agree with the flaws in the writing that I've seen on this show that I think the show could be better if he worked with other writers and directors.

My biggest problem with the show is any character on the show supposed to be the protagonist? Tika's character Candace could be the protagonist if Tyler was able to tone her down a little and stop punishing her for being bad.

But Tyler Perry has built in his audiences, they watch his shows and love them, so if he has the audience base and they like his shows and movies as they are there is no need for him to change them.
