Spy x Family (2022– )

Best anime ever
7 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wholesome, funny, exciting and full of heart, Spy x Family is the perfect package for any anime fan. The characters are really interesting, have detailed backstories and 3-dimensional personalities which makes them realistic. Loid, a master of disguise with charm and charisma. Anya, an adorable little girl who is actually a telepath able to read minds. Yor, a contract-killer assassin who tries to do the best she can to be the best mother to Anya. And Bond, a fluffy dog huge in size and covered in snow-colored fur, who can actually see the future! The members of the Forger family are sure to make this series an enjoyable experience worth watching. As well as the intriguing assassination attempt plot, wholesome sweetness, sharp comedy and James Bond level action.

Good for the kids

My Father's Dragon may not reach the dazzling heights of Tomm Moore's Irish folklore trilogy, but this is a good movie to watch for younger children and may even entertain older viewers thanks to the gorgeous visuals. The story may be a bit to basic for some people, but it is still a worthwhile watch just for the visuals alone. I don't know why, but Nora Twomey's storytelling just doesn't work for me. I feel like she doesn't do a good job at producing book-to-film adaptations. Maybe she should try writing her own stories instead of adapting someone else's intellectual property and hard work into a different medium.

Good, but overrated show
7 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so it took me almost 7 years to review My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I will say that I was intrigued by this show as a kid, even writing my own cringey FIM headcannons.

What do I think of it now? Well, it's obviously a show with its heart in the right place. 6 colorful ponies learn about the power of friendship. But the problem is, even though episodes of this show have important life lessons for both kids and adults, the execution often feels repetitive and unoriginal. Especially during the newer seasons of the show. I really like the slice of life episodes in this series but the two parter episodes for the pilot and the finale of each season are not my cup of tea. And the episodes about the friendship map are also boring in my opinion.

But the animation is colourful and cute. The show also has plenty of memorable songs.

But overall, due to the simplicity of FIM, I can't like it as much as I want to.
