Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Bad Territory (2024)
Not the best of the season, but an enjoyable episode nonetheless
After the two amazing episodes last week, expectations were set very high. And although this episode wasn't as good as the last two, it was still very enjoyable and I'd argue not "filler" because it continued the story. Seeing Fennec is always great, especially since she's voiced by Ming Na Wen herself. Hunter and Wrecker always make a good team and their chemistry with Fennec was nice, although the mission was pretty mundane. On the other hand we had Crosshair and Omega on Pabu as they tried to heal Crosshair's shaky hands. I must say seeing an amazing sniper like him with shaky hands is heartbreaking, and I continue to love the relationship between him and Omega. And I firmly believe that the person Fennec was talking to at the end of this episode was Ventress, as we saw her in the trailer. Overall, this episode was nothing crazy but developed the story and characters fairly well. 8/10.
Ahsoka: Part Three: Time to Fly (2023)
Perhaps not perfect, but thrilling to the true fans
The Ahsoka show has had a promising start and so far, three very solid episodes. Though not perfect, even though some might disagree, this series so far had a beautiful score, great acting, and wonderful visuals. I understand that the audience who has not seen the animated series will not be as attached to this show as others who have, but I think we can all appreciate the story and the characters. The pacing is off at times, with episodes starting off slow then picking up the pace and action. After all the amazing reviews, I am slightly disappointed with this series so far (which I'm sure will change after the second season) but the little things like seeing the Ghost, the purrgils, the mentions of Ezra and Thrawn definitely excites the Rebels fan inside me. This episode gave us a good amount of character development, action, and story continuation which is why I rate it an 8.5/10. I have full trust in Dave and that this show will be something truly incredible as it gets to the end. And I must say, as much as I have enjoyed this series so far something BIG needs to happen soon.
Secret Invasion: Resurrection (2023)
MCU's Andor
This was definitely a great change of tone after all the other shows we got. The tension, the story, the acting were all very nicely done. Seeing Nick Fury in action is always great, as I feel he is one of the most underrated characters in the MCU. This series contains only 6 episodes and the first episode progressed quite slowly, so I'm afraid the later episodes might feel rushed, and I really hope that's not the case. The "Not knowing who to trust" theme also does a great job at hooking the viewer in. After shows like She Hulk and Ms Marvel, this series really felt like a breath of fresh air, I just hope they can keep it up. Very strong starter, 8.1/10.(That ending!!)
The Flash: A New World, Part 4: Finale (2023)
SO many ups and downs
The episode started off incredible, with great interactions between our favorite villains(except Godspeed). But then, they were all defeated in 3 minutes?! I'm kinda pissed that Barry talked Eddie out of all this but the flashbacks made it okay. Zoom saying "You can't lock up the darkness." And Eddie saying "I always win Flash." were great references. And finally the final scene was absolutely incredible, it gave me so many chills. But the wacky dialogue and the quick end to the villains made this episode so so. This was a far from perfect finale but I think that 6.4 is a brutal score for this episode. Because of the great build up, it was a kinda disappointing finale but a 7.7 nonetheless. Thank you Flash, you have given us several amazing seasons and some not so great ones, but this will always be one of my favorite shows.(Also Grant Gustin is the absolute GOAT)
The Flash: It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To (2023)
It was ACTUALLY well-written too?!
Now, I have to start off by saying that I haven't enjoyed an episode of The Flash this way in a LONG time. Yes, seeing Oliver again was incredible but the story was also surprisingly well done. Bloodwork is undoubtedly the best villain we have had in The Flash the last years. I also loved seeing Wally again, the flashbacks really made his turn believable. The amazing references(prochnost, Oliver's talk to Barry being the exact same in the first episode, you have failed this city) made this episode truly special. Now, it's hard to mess up an episode when Oliver is in it but after so many terrible episodes this felt like it was a whole other show. This season has been incredibly disappointing until this episode and I doubt that the next episode will live up to this one, but this definitely felt like a breath of fresh air. This episode is a 10/10 for me, keep it up writers.
