An original universe, written with similar story elements that harken to other movies. Movies, I might add, that are classics in sci-fi and other genres. So why are folks raging against it?
Is it the Snyder slow-motion? What did you expect? It will be there, it will be gorgeously shot, and it typically emphasizes a critical moment in either character development or action sequence. You know its coming, so if thats not your cup of tea, move along to the next regurgitated IP that Disney attempts to feed you.
Is it perfect, heck no. I'd take a three hour version that lengthens the character intros/development in a way that doesn't make it feel so rushed. Some character motives could also be further explored, given time for more dialogue.
But to establish an entire universe, set the table for storytelling, and move it along to a clear, concise conflict- is way beyond much of the sci-fi drivel we've had to consume in recent years. Oh, and its entertaining. Very entertaining. P
