The all-pink and lavender wedding scene sort of made me want to puke, though at least there was a Jew dancing. Honestly, Dolly pulls it off. I do not have a thing against people playing Southerners, but you know, they never really can do it justice; I mean, the hijinks of some of the 'local' kids reminds me of some sort of more-or-less innocent Brooklyn hooligans. . Which I suppose should be a more favourable version of the South. Although there is a lot more land, alot more spread out in the south, it seems kind of like a whirligig the way it all spins together in the film here.
My Blueberry Nights is a film directed by superstar Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai. He filmed it in America using all famous Western stars (Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Norah Jones...) And it is O. K. But quite different from the stuff he made in Hong Kong.
