Sebastian Fitzek's Therapy (2023)
laughable.
Not one character worth caring about.
A monotone atmosphere where literally every character is frantic, all the time.
After two episodes, it is impossible to give a damn about whatever this alleged "mystery" might turn out to be.
Everything about this production reeks of desperation.
The acting is pathetic, the writing and direction even worse.

Three Pines (2022)
for once i agree with the bad reviews
A great story, with great actors and locations, from a series of books by louise penny.
So far we've watched three episodes and we are just plain bored. Completely and totally unengaged and uninterested. The bad reviews, this time, are right on the money. Virtually every scene is flat. The mystery here is that i just can't figure out what went wrong. But, like the coach in hockey, it's all on the director(s).
The reason i've given only one star is because i am so amazed that they blew such a great opportunity. Epic fail. This should be an emotional roller coaster. The viewer should be feeling something. Anything. Instead we are left with the feeling that the actors are barely getting through their scenes, asking the director "was that okay?" after each shoot.
Night Sky (2022)
yawnfest!
My wife and i love slow moving movies and series, and have enjoyed so many, especially european productions. With sissy spacek and especially jk simmons on board, we had high expectations - so much so that we watched seven episodes before finally bailing, out of sheer frustration. Why? Because nothing happens. The promise that something will happen persists, but nothing ever does. Or, if it does, it ends up being entirely irrelevant. And no one ever says anything! Seriously! The dialog just bounces from one meaningless exchange to the next meaningless exchange. Seven episodes in and whatever sense of wonder and anticipation we enjoyed at the beginning of episode one has long dissipated. We couldn't find one interesting character. Not one. And we are way beyond caring how it ends. Sorry to rain on anyone's enthusiasm or enjoyment. However, if there is ever a european remake, we will happily give it another try.
