Checkin' It Twice (2023)
Excellent movie!
This movie was great! The story had both the leads struggling with their futures and what they really wanted in life, instead of just the female lead typically deciding between city and small town life. Kim Matula is a breath of fresh air as the female lead, and Kevin McGarry was excellent, as usual! They both have expressive faces that add a lot to their acting abilities. So many funny moments, which made the movie even more entertaining! The egg nog scene was especially funny, and the movie is almost worth watching just for that. I truly loved this movie and I have watched it more than once already. I highly recommend it.
Love in the Great Smoky Mountains: A National Park Romance (2023)
Nice scenery, but no chemistry with the leads
I was disappointed with this movie. The concept was good, but the execution wasn't. I've seen Ariel in other movies and she has had great chemistry with other male leads, but in this film there was nothing, not even a fizzle. It was disappointing because I've seen her in the other films and really liked her. She was okay in this film, but without the chemistry it just fell flat.
The scenery was lovely, but I don't watch hallmark movies because of the scenery. It's just a nice bonus if the setting adds to the movie. The story of trying to find this magnificent stone was okay, but finding it was way too easy. It was hard to believe that it hadn't been found already.
The Wedding Veil Expectations (2023)
Loved this movie
Loved seeing a relationship after the wedding is over. The story was engaging and there were a lot of comedic moments and dramatic moments as well. Kevin and Lacey have great chemistry, which added to the appeal of the story. The acting was well done by everyone, especially by Kevin and Lacey. The women's friendship added to the story nicely, without taking over the main storyline. I liked seeing a continuation to a story that I really liked as well. It would be great if we could visit them again next year (hint, hint to TPTB). I really enjoyed this sequel to the Wedding Veil and would reccommend it to everyone, especially if you want to see something a bit different from Hallmark.
