Evil Dead Rise (2023)
Snooze fest
Total snooze fest, on this high rise meth / bath salts trailer park.
Nothing new to see here.
Frustrating that they capitalized off of the name, and brought none of the thrills.
It feels like they asked AI to take every horrible blumhouse movie and then slap on the name "Evil Dead" and this is what we got.
The scenes feel so half hazarded as well, as if the same bored AI was like, here... this was in 500 other horrible movies, use it.
I think Helen Keller could have done way better or even Nell.
There is really nothing positive to say about this trash, other than they really figured out away to scam people out of their cash and time.
Congratulations on creating this trash and down grading the "Evil Dead" franchise.
Pearl (2022)
Nice color saturation and scenery
Nice color saturation and scenery.
Other than that I don't recall much, because I started giving myself a lobotomy 10 minutes into this.
Another over / under sexed white girl, with mental issues, looking for fame, to escape her tortured life. Yawn...
This could have been a number of other movies really. Except a number of those movies, I actually enjoyed.
Scary thing is, I've read how some people relate to this character... seek some type of mental health treatment if that is you...
This movie does offer some beautiful shots though, and I really did enjoy the color saturation.
Even if this twisted version of Dorthy was a total snooze fest.
The Winchesters (2022)
If Scooby Doo and Monster Squad had sucked, this is what they would have looked like.
If Scooby Doo and Monster Squad had sucked, this is what they would have looked like.
This show basically capitalized off of the name and audience of "Supernatural" but it doesn't hold a light next to it, it's more like being trapped in a car with someone else's fart, while your stomach is bubbling and there's no toilet in sight.
Even Jensen "Dean" doesn't use his deep "Supernatural" voice in the voice overs, it's as if even he knows this show is awful and isn't willing to stress his throat over it.
"Supernatural" was an amazing show and it's a shame that they attached this mess to its name.
Bros (2022)
It's almost a modern day "Jeffery"
It's almost a modern day "Jeffery" but with less AIDS and more "Glee"
Many stereotypes, but that's what makes up a romcom.
It was nice to see so many LGBTQ+ Actors / Actresses working on the project.
Hopefully we will continue to see more mainstream movies being produced for the LGBTQ+ community, with high quality productions, where they aren't the sissy, the killer or the victim.
As for anyone who might have had an issue with the film, I would suggest watching movie trailers before going to the theater, it's hard to be surprised what it's about if you look at the movie poster as well.
If you find that it's not your thing, that's awesome. It wasn't meant for you, so go have a pumpkin spice whatever, and enjoy your movie night, over at Karen and Chad's.
The Black Phone (2021)
I almost walked out of my own living room
I almost walked out of my own living room, it was that bad.
Of course I would have missed the one or two parts, that would have made a good movie.
On a positive note, Ethan Hawke is playing a role that he has always given me the vibes for... so there's that.
Resident Evil (2022)
It doesn't get better
It doesn't get better... I was optimistic and I admit that I was wrong.
Out of 8 episodes, I may have possibly liked a total of 15 minutes of this thing...
Hopefully Billie Eilish was compensated well for the obvious rip off of her character.
Also, this whole mix of timelines is so played out an is just a tool now used for lackluster writing and direction.
On the positive side though... this production did provide jobs, even though some of those people should probably never work in the media industry again.
