Trilogy of Terror (1975)
Girl.. Are You Stupid?
I saw this on Svengoolie tonight, and happened to catch the end where the woman was fighting the evil doll. I hate to say it.. but this was one of the biggest bag fumbles I've seen on any movie. She has multiple opportunities to actually KILL the doll. She locks it in a suitcase. But she doesn't actually do anything with the suitcase.. instead the evil doll just starts CARVING through the case. And what does this genius do? OPENS IT.. WHY???
If I were her, I would simply burn the suitcase.. perhaps BURY the suitcase alive. Maybe even THROW THE SUITCASE OUT THE WINDOW!!! She struggles to open the window in one scene. News Flash!! BREAK IT!! I can't imagine they had shatterproof glass in this house in the mid 70s. Break the window with the coffee table!!! What are you doing???
Finally, she puts the doll in the oven. And then, the thing dies. So what does she do?? OPENS THE OVEN AND GETS POSSESSED BY THE DOLL'S SMOKE.. Girl.... Are you dumb??? I could have CALLED THAT from a mile away.
Now she's out here calling her mom and her teeth are all messed up. She need to be calling ASPEN DENTAL instead of her mom. Safe to say, Amelia (if that's her name) fumbled the bag HARD. 1/10 just because I was so frustrated watching that.
Nintendo Direct (2011)
Nintendo Direct Has Healed Society
Imagine a world where the flow of information is decided on by a few major conventions in the United States. For the video game industry, this was the case in the nineties and 2000s. Trade shows, like E3 is when all video game companies HAD to show off their stuff for press coverage.
That was until 2011. Nintendo had launched their first Direct, and it's launch would change the world.
Like many first episodes, the first Nintendo Direct was quite boring, created and hosted by Nintendo of America CEO, Reggie Fils-Aime, the first Nintendo Direct was basically telling the world information that was already known by the masses-- instead of a presentation of new information, it was essentially an advertisment for existing products.
However, as time went on, the Direct format would be used more and more, and used to show off things like the then new Wii U console.
It wasn't until E3 2013 when the Nintendo Direct finally was used as a true E3 replacement. Due to ailing health of then Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, Nintendo presented their E3 presentation remotely from Japan. And it was called, Nintendo Direct. However, people did not like the format, and it was heavily criticized.
Fast forward ten years later. Nintendo is now at the top when it comes to the "console wars", the Switch has sold over 100 million units, and it's games become best sellers within a few days of release. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic, trade shows like E3 have died completely, leaving Sony and Microsoft to release their own Nintendo Direct like presentations. Some companies even use the "Direct" moniker too-- more recently, Bethesda/Microsoft released a "Starfield Direct", a very Nintendo like move.
For the past six years or so, the Nintendo Direct has become not only a staple of gaming fans everywhere-- but also a industry game changer. No longer do major corporations have to wait until a major trade show to present new titles or hardware. They can control when they get press and don't. And while indie events like "Summer Games Show" exist to fill the E3 gap, they're mostly reserved for smaller studios and indie devs.
Nintendo Direct has healed society.
New Girl (2011)
New Girl Has Healed Society, ALL DAY, SON!!
For all of the shows on television that have caused society to go down hill, there is a diamond in the rough. The 2011-2018 sitcom, New Girl, is the first sitcom that I have reviewed on IMDB that gets the MeTVFan1234 BANGER CERTIFICATION.
The MeTVFan1234 Banger Certification means that all seasons and most episodes of the show are a banger. Not even some of my favorite shows like MASH, or The Office have completely banger first seasons, but New Girl breaks the curse, by having a full, and absolutely fantastic first season that sucks you into watching the show.
The quality doesn't wane in later seasons either, which is rare, as most sitcoms do have this problem. But New Girl doesn't.
Spoilers: There is a time hop last season, but unlike the absolutely disastrous one that was done in Parks and Recreation, the time hop is good and still is a banger. Too bad the final season was only a few episodes.
The conclusion? Bangers. ALL DAY SON!
A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
The Best Thing On TV
There are a couple of one star reviews on here which have deeply offended me. 1965's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is one of the most perfect television specials of all time, if not the best. With charming analog, hand drawn animation that feels like a drawing on a page come to life, to the beautiful jazz soundtrack behind it, A Charlie Brown Christmas is a special that marks the beginning of the Christmas season.
To dare say that the music and animation is "cheap" or that the story is depressing is simply being edgy and going against the grain for no other reason to just be SPECIAL. These reviews were most likely written by a edgy millennial who simply has to hate everything they come upon.
Whether it's Boomers, Gen Xers, most Millennials, or Gen Z, there is NO denying that A Charlie Brown Christmas is a BANGER. It is one of the best, if not the best uses of around 30 minutes of your time.
It used to air on ABC, but now it airs on Apple TV+. It is FREE around the holiday season on Apple TV, but if you want to watch it live, it also airs on PBS which is pretty nice, because there is no commercials on either of those options.
In conclusion. A Charlie Brown Christmas is a banger, and writing a bad review is a crime.
Nintendo Direct: Episode #12.5 (2022)
This Nintendo Direct Has Destroyed Society
I have never seen a Nintendo Direct worse than this one. It's bad even compared to E3 from last year.
So, first we get a trailer for the new Fire Emblem. Fine, if you are a Fire Emblem fan, and I have no problems.
What happens after is a slew of anime farming games. Like, the entire direct is anime farming games.
The direct peaked when Deep Cut announced the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest. Then, the direct took an even worse turn, with MORE anime farming games, no announcement of any new consoles coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, and then was interrupted by Shigeru Miyamoto.
He said the Mario Movie was coming soon in 2022, and then moved to a two minute presentation on Pikmin Bloom, which came out LAST YEAR. Then, announced that Pikmin 4 is coming out, and then bounced.
What about the Mario Movie?? How come we haven't seen a trailer? This movie must be REALLY bad for Miyamoto to announce Pikmin 4.
The presentation ended with a title for the next Legend of Zelda title and a release date for next year.
Overall, one of the worst directs in a while.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
It's Good But Peppermint Patty is Annoying
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is an underrated Charlie Brown special. It's been a tradition to watch all three major Charlie Brown specials during the holidays, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is no exception.
My only issue with it, is that Peppermint Patty is a bit annoying. However, it does not stop me from watching it every year.
Caillou: Rosie the Giant (2022)
Not As Good As The Original-- Which Is Not Saying Much
Somehow, Peacock has managed to somehow make the already terrible Caillou worse. The animation quality is beyond subpar. It looks FINE, but it's BLAND. It's BORING.
Adam-12 (1968)
Jack Webb Makes Great Series
Adam-12 was one of the most influential series on TV, and still, all these years later, holds up well. It's lack of over sensationalized fight scenes makes it quite realistic and is something that you really don't see on TV today.
It used to be on COZI but it's on MeTV now because they have the rights to air it. COZI has Emergency now, another Jack Webb series.
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! (2006)
A great show
Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Is great. The songs are great and the lessons they teach are great too. I love Wow! Wow! Wubbzy and you should watch it. They canceled it a few years ago, but the reruns are still good.
Peppa Pig (2004)
Not As Good As Ben and Holly
Peppa Pig is a classic.. but I feel like it's not as good as Ben and Holly. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Ben and Holly. It's funnier and the episodes are more in depth.
Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom (2009)
A Great Show and Better Than Peppa Pig
Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom is a great show. Here is why.
It is funny, clever, and the jokes are more in depth compared to Peppa Pig. It also uses the same voice actors as Peppa Pig.
Caillou (1997)
Don't Let The Karen's Fool You-- Caillou Is The Best
Caillou is one of the best shows in history. It's simple storytelling has absolutely transcended the barrier of TV. It is so good, that I don't even know what to say in this review.
Happy Days: Hollywood: Part 3 (1977)
Fonzie Changed TV Forever
When Fonzie jumped the shark in this episode, some people saw it as a negative. However, I do not. We now have a term to use when a TV show runs out of ideas and is losing popularity.
Bonanza (1959)
Theme Song Is A Banger
Bonanza's theme song is a BANGER. It is great. Everytime I hear the Bonanza theme song my day is instantly made better, which was especially helpful after seeing Alf guest starring on Matlock!
Max & Ruby (2002)
Do not let the Karens fool you... Max and Ruby is great!
Max and Ruby is the best show on TV. Here is why: It is good and I LOVE IT! Max and Ruby is the best show on TV, so good, I said it's the best twice.
The 2016 reboot is not that good, but it's fine.
Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. (1964)
Surprise, Surprise, Surprise, SHUT UP!
Gomer Pyle: USMC may be one of the worst things I have ever seen. I like The Andy Griffith Show, and I don't mind Gomer Pyle on there, but this show is awful. I hate it. Did Gomer really need to get a show? And HOW is HE IN THE MARINES?? Sgt. Carter is annoying too.
Green Acres (1965)
Theme Song Is A Banger
Green Acres theme song is a undeniable BANGER. You cannot deny it. It is a perfect TV theme song. It explains the show, the back story, and it is a complete banger. It sounds similar to The Addam's Family theme song, but that is because it was composed by Vic Mizzy, the same person who also wrote The Addam's Family theme.
ALF (1986)
Alf Also Helped Destroy Society-- Along with Leave It To Beaver
If any of you know of my banger review for the American "classic" Leave It To Beaver-- you will know my opinion that is Leave It To Beaver destroyed American Society.
I also believe the same about ALF. Alf sucks. He sucks so much, he nearly ruined Matlock for me when I saw him a special guest star on there. I cried for hours and considered throwing my Matlock DVD set in the garbage.
First, let's talk about the theme song. It would be a banger, if it wasn't the theme song to ALF. Because it is, it sucks.
Batman (1966)
Gotham City Police are Useless
I hate Batman, not because of Batman, but because of the utterly useless waste of taxpayer dollars that is the Gotham City Police Department. They can spend all this money on a fancy phone that goes directly to Batman but they can't take down some stupid rich people?
Batman's not special. He just has muh-nee. If I were Bruce Wayne, I would simply lease my equipment to the police department. Now the police have the means to defeat the bad guys and Bruce Wayne has passive income.
Sventoonie (2022)
It's OK
Sventoonie.. it's a puppet. It's OK. It's not amazing, but, it's not bad either. It's just kind of there, on before Batman but not before Svengoolie. It's just a show. You can't really call it entertaining, but it's not boring. I don't know how to describe Sventoonie other than it's just a show.
He is coming back for a second season in October 2022. Will it be good? I don't know.
The Andy Griffith Show: Bargain Day (1964)
Aunt Bee Won't Call "The Man"--- And I'm Fed Up
I never watch The Andy Griffith Show, but one day I decided to watch an episode, and it happened to be this one. However, any hopes of enjoying The Andy Griffith Show were dashed when Aunt Bee bought a budget freezer and would not get it repaired.
So what happened?
So in this episode, Aunt Bee buys a budget bargain bin crap used freezer, and stores meat in it. But-- it's not just any meat, it's bargain meat she bought from a new butcher in town, not their usual one.
As no surprise to any one, her crap freezer breaks, and her meat is going to go bad. Andy pleads to Aunt Bee, to simply call a repair man, however, she refuses to. She then calls Gomer Pyle, and he can't fix it, because he is Gomer Pyle. Finally, she asks her original butcher (who she didn't buy the meat from) to store it for her.
Andy is mad that Aunt Bee would dare to ask the other butcher to store the meat. Keep in mind, this could all be solved if Aunt Bee would just call the repair man, which is referenced a million times in this episode. "Just call the man!"
Finally, Andy just buys her a new freezer.
What a waste of 30 minutes. Don't even bother watching this episode.
Matlock: The Captain (1989)
Charles Martinet Stole The Show
When I heard that Charles Martinet himself was in an episode of Matlock, I had to watch it right away. He should have won an Emmy for this episode alone. Whoever cast Chris Pratt as Mario should have watched this episode!
M*A*S*H: Strange Bedfellows (1983)
good Episode of M*A*S*H
*wimodderfan1234*hello i love this Episode of M*A*S*H
Here is why
.charles winchester snoring is loud
col. Potter discovers that his son-in-law has had an affair. The Colonel finds that this young man has had a tryst with a woman in a hotel before arriving in the camp.
Does he act to blow up the marriage and save his daughter from future abuse, or let it go?
Much more serious issue, having to do with one of B. J.'s patients who is in danger of losing his leg. It contrasts the lesser issues previously portrayed.
The Brady Bunch (1969)
The Best Show Ever
The Brady Bunch is the best show ever made ever.
Here is why:
I watch it every Sunday on MeTV.
It's really really good.
It's going to be on the Sunday Block Party soon.
Leave It to Beaver (1957)
Leave It To Beaver Has Destroyed Society is true
It's terrible. I don't like it. It's not good. It's a waste of time and your brain cells. You have been warned.
Even watching a 5 hour marathon of Full House is better than watching even 10 seconds of an episode of Leave It To Beaver. That is how bad it is.
