Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
A wonderful end to a franchise
I was uncertain how I was going to feel about this movie but I ended up loving it. Really, the only thing that threw me was the de-aging bit in the flashback at the beginning. It was very well done but it did throw me off a little bit. I thought that this movie was a realistic look at where Indy might be in his life at his age. Obviously, he's not going to be swinging from ropes anymore but he's still smart as a whip and can solve centuries old riddles to find a fabled artifact. Bringing in some of Indy's old friends was really heartwarming for me. It was nice to know where they ended up in life. It's clear that Harrison Ford enjoyed playing Indiana Jones again. Mads Mikkelsen also played a great enemy to our beloved Indy. I thought the movie was well done. If you are a fan of the franchise, I think you will enjoy this as a fitting end to it. I'm actually planning on seeing it again. Don't let the crybabies on the internet stop you from giving this a chance.
Freeridge (2023)
Funny
I was a huge fan of the original On My Block so I was excited to check this out. If course it took me a little bit to warm up to a new crop of characters but once I did, I really enjoyed it! I like that they put some nods in to the original show and had mentions of story lines from the original show that tied Freeridge in. It did take me a couple of episodes to really get pulled in to the storyline but I am glad that I kept watching! I would love to see a second season! I feel like it has the same heartwarming comedic feel with an undercurrent of dark reality that the original did. I'll give it a second watch for sure.
Lockwood & Co. (2023)
This is great!
I didn't know anything about this show and honestly only turned it on because I didn't see anything else I was interested in. I'm glad that I did because I really like it. Yes. It's geared towards young adults but any fan of spooky supernatural mystery type shows will like this. I keep getting XFiles/Supernatural/Scooby-Doo vibes. It's not like any of those shows but it just gives me those vibes occasionally. Added bonus.... the soundtrack is killer. Bauhaus and the Cure? Yes, please! I'm certainly hoping for more seasons for this show. In the mean time, I'll give it a second watch because I like it that much.
That '90s Show (2023)
Nostalgic and Fun!!
I thought this show was very well done. I didn't know how much I missed Kitty and Red but it was great to see them again. I also loved the cameos by the original actors. It took me a minute to get used to the young actors because I was used to seeing the original gang in those sets. Once I got used to it, I thought they did a great job. Don't listen to the people whining about the diversity of the cast. I'm a white girl who went to school in a small town in the 90's. My sisters two best friends were Korean, the most popular athlete in school was black, the prettiest girl in school was Vietnamese and my date to the Homecoming Dance was Japanese . We absolutely had diversity in our small town school. I'm glad that in 2023, we are finally showing that diversity on t.v. I enjoyed this show.
