There are too many plot holes than I'd like to go into details on. And the world setup itself is questionable. For example, how does a human coding error result in AI launching nuclear to Los Angeles, and the Americans never find out? And why is that kid trying to drag the deadweight of an uninitiated droid across the ship just to dump her in a cornfield?
The second half of this movie reminds me too much of Star Wars a new hope, not in a good way. It's not only the "Death star" of their own, but also how the "resistance" responds passively to the attacks, which was by the way one of the reasons why I didn't enjoy this as much as the Star Wars.
Although I have to say that the writer portrayed the modern "empire" rather accurately, from an Asian point to view at least, as in how they enforce their beliefs and decisions violently to other parts of the world.
