The Remaining (2014)
well ...
It was a movie ! Honestly just watched this because I really enjoy Bryan Dechart, and he was the saving grace here. A lot of it was sloppy, they would throw in random aspects and not explain them. Sam's character was very random, she appeared out of nowhere and stuck with the group for the rest of the movie without actually having a clear purpose? And the confession scene, Dan admitting to cheating was such a sudden fact that didn't hold much value. I enjoyed the drama between Ally, Tommy, and Jack, though it was dramatic I found it interesting. Dan and Skylar are an interesting pair, I'm still struggling to figure out how i feel about them. Dan was an intriguing character, we don't really find out where he stands, just how dedicated he is to Skylar. Ally was all over the place, the whole "decision" scene was underwhelming and a lot went unexplained. The graphics and overall plot weren't that great. The story has potential, yet lacked in most departments. If it was remade now with the same cast, it definitely would've been better. I think it had potential, just wasn't executed in the best way.
Litchi DE Hikari Club (2012)
unpopular opinion but
Ive been a big fan of the lhc series for awhile now, and i know others who say the anime adaptation is awful but i truthfully adore it. You're not going to understand whats going on without prior knowledge from the manga, it is an adaptation that is separate from the main plot. A lot of people say the mini-anime is ridiculous and bad, but i find it charming in a way. Its such a silly series, lhc is considered a dark comedy and dramatic so of course the show is gonna be ridiculous. I love seeing the kids in a different setting, seeing them act more like a group and more like friends. It really brings light to the reality of the series, they are kids, but also brings light to the comedy genre. It isn't supposed to be great, its just a fun mini-anime for a horror manga with a comedy take on it. Personally love this version and it makes me laugh despite how dark and gruesome the actually story is.
Sanders Sides (2016)
series that raised me
God where do I even start with this series ,, i grew up watching Thomas on vine and i adored his characters. After the fall of vine, everyone was obviously bummed out but Thomas decided to create this series almost in it's place. Sander Sides has been a comfort for me since the very beginning, whenever im feeling lost or sad, ive always been able to go to this series as a pick-me-up. Thomas has such a creative way of handling relatable issues in such a helpful way, ive learned so much from this series, its taught me how to cope with my own issues while making me laugh at the same time. Ive been going back to this series for years now, i can never get bored no matter how many times ive seen it. Thomas and his friends have done such an amazing job over the years, this is a series i can't ever forget, i think i will always come back to it no matter what. Thank you thomas and friends for everything.
