Unhinged (2020)
What a terrible movie!
The worst acting job for an overweight Russell Crowe in one of the silliest film ever produced. Caren Pistorius is pretty and not a bad actress even though far too young to be a mother of a teenager! Some good car stunts and that's it. Don't waste your time with this film.
Acceleration (2019)
Natalie Burn is great
Loved the movie. Natalie is a an action star. I highly reccomend this movie if you like action and fighting.
Moment to Moment (2010)
Do not miss it!
Following the story of Frank Wesley in this heart warming, unique short film it gives a sense of admiration once more toward people like Frank who never gave up. A standing applause to the director of this little masterpiece, Charles Franco Calabria, that uses his talent in filmaking at its best. Mr. Calabria already show in the past the sensible and effective approach in story telling thru the magical eyes of his camera, his improvement are a guarantee for a well deserved, brilliant future. I look forward to admire his next project. And it is true, you have to have fun when you live. I highly recommend to anybody to watch this film. BRAVO!
Mayday (2005)
Mayday for the poor audience
Please stop insulting audiences intelligence by regurgitating such stupid, nonsense, insulting movies like this one...MAYDAY... we should all screams for such directors and writers who are so willing just to work that they do not care about loosing their integrity (if they ever had one). Where is creativity heading in this business? And let's not talk about the executives who decided to put such a farce in production and on top of everything, after seeing the results, are still deciding to throw it into the faces of the audiences. This film does not have one shot or even a single frame that could be remotely considered less than zero. A three years old could have written and directed a more believable movie. Shame on you...
That Darn Cat (1997)
Poor Cat...
I was 12 years old when I saw the original film (I lived in Italy and the Italian title was "FBI, OPERATION CAT!") That was a fun film and not just for kids. This awful remake it's pathetic even for a 5 year old! What possessed Disney to ruin their reputation and the memory of a lovely film I don't know and I just can't believe it. Even the title song in the original film (both original version and the dubbed Italian version) was extremely nice and creating the mood for the story. On this remake the title song is even worst than the movie itself. It was just nice to see Dean Jones even if for just a cameo appearance, he was a regular on the great old Disney's films. I cannot honestly see anything else positive in this remade movie.
Beretta's Island (1993)
Great Locations in Sardinia
I like when certain low budget independent motion pictures are trying harder to make a point. "Beretta's Island" certainly is one of them. Franco Columbu (Mr. World, Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia) produced this movie and stars as an interpol agent - code name Beretta - who is forced out of retirement to avenge the cold-blooded murder of a cop. The killer's trail leads to Franco's hometown on the beautiful island of Sardinia, west of the Italian coast line. Rarely used locations adding an amazing flavor to the action and increases the value of the story and cinematography. I heard that in some circles in the USA and around the world this is considered a cult movie.
Il sorpasso (1962)
A movie milestone!!!
Probably the best "costume satire" film ever made. Vittorio Gassman is perfect in the role of Bruno. Great cast especially the supporting role of J. L. Trintignant. Adorable and very sexy the beautiful teenager daughter of Bruno played by Catherine Spaak. Il Sorpasso depicted in great reality the sweet bitter life of the 60's in Italy. The perfect road movie, filled with deep characters and great locations between Rome (deserted during the peak summertime vacation of "ferragosto" and the overcrowded countryside of the coast between the Capital and the Tuscan Riviera). This film is filled with humor and sadness (If you don't understand Italian, you'll miss something but the movie language is international, and the subtitles will help you). DO NOT MISS IT! Bravo Dino Risi!
Smog (1962)
Exceptional film
Amazing Italian film directed by the great Franco Rossi. He was able to show, with a great style and costume satire, a day spent in Los Angeles by an Italian visitor accidentally there for 24 hours while waiting for his visa. Brilliantly acted by a superb cast that includes Enrico Maria Salerno, Renato Salvatori and Annie Girardot and beautifully shot in a sumptuous black and white, this masterpiece of a film still remains after forty years since it was made, the perfect portrait of the city of LA and some of the residents. No movie has ever showed the Los Angeles life in such a funny, romantic, nostalgic way. It is a rare, unique film. Do not miss it, if you can find it!
