Fall (2022)
Deffo worth your Friday eve movie spot
I liked this movie
There were a few things I found predictable like the ending and I knew which one would survive as soon as I met the characters and the mentioned the unholy stupid activity that for some reason sounded like a good idea to them. My husband even guessed that her best friend did the dirty on her but I was none the wiser, anyway its a movie about to stupid people doing a really stupid thing, I enjoyed the watch but didn't find it scary - probably because it's just not in my nature to do things like this and if i did loose my marbles and decide to - I would have told people where I was going, I would have had a suitable lenght bungy cord I most likely would have took a parachute for the way down cause why not I'm obviously feeling like a daredevil if I decided to do something like this unpaid, I would have brought other people with me to wait at the bottom, I ain't climbing NOTHING with out snacks and juice in my bag, that being said people do risk their lives climbing and there is a yearly mortality rate for climbers and even the engineers and technicians who are paid to go up there and fix stuff risk their lives and occasionally loose them and they are professionals. So although it wasnt based on a true story someone somewhere lost their life doing stuff like this so it is a bit of a gut wrenching movie, Yeah so dont do dumb stuff and if you do at least be prepared invest in a parachute oh and pick wisely obviously don't climb stuff that's about to be decommissioned- that's the stuff people won't even be paid to climb.
Everyone Else Burns (2023)
From the moment I turned it on ...fab
It was quite clear it was the cult I grew up in in the first 5 seconds of the show, it was so unbelievably funny and accurate the person who wrote it must have grown up in the cult because there was so many tiny things you would only know if you was one, they even got characters down to a T - i could deffo relate also I liked the diversions for copywrite purposes lol it was refreshing to see this and it helps to laugh about this past traumatic life lol I hope they keep it rolling!
The problem is I'm not sure how funny it would be to people who never was in the cult, I don't think it's a relatable or understandable life to others, cult members would definitely not find it funny and most likely would avoid. However for us ex's it's fab gives you a chance to confirm yep you were living that life and thank god your not now- but your not alone so laugh instead of crying (as our ex members have really bad mental health after leaving the jehovahs witnessess or being disfellowshiped ) it shows you the humours side! And also it gives you a chance to show those around you a glimpse of what you had a live through.
You People (2023)
Good concept horrible execution
I watched the trailer and it looked funny!
I watched the movie and it was terrible
I have no idea where they went wrong but it was awful how can you do so bad with such a good cast??
First of all- I don't know what kind of next dimensions the producers and writers were on but who acts like that??? It definitely didn't seem like it was written by ethnic people and the jokes seemed like they were written by the innocent "accidental" racists from my school days - stupid jokes like ha ha is that your hair or did you get it from a shop/ can you take your hair off do you have hair underneath it? Where are you from- no where are you really from -you get the jist-those kind of stupid jokes and endless questions.
It brought nothing fresh and new to the table it just felt so forced i've seen better comedy skits on tiktok.
I've met many women like this mother in law (most are genuinely curious) - I've come across so many beaming exited people that have ignorant questions to ask or speaking out of turn with racist subjects or acutal insults but this was silly and I felt it tried to subliminally show that we are petty and blow things out of proportion, so no not a fan.
Frozen (2013)
Don't care about the plotholes
It's a kids movie so I really don't care about any of the plot holes mentioned below as I'm sure we could just pick every kids movie to shreds if your intention is to find plotholes.
However if your down for watching a light hearted movie with brilliant songs and lovley artistic scenes then you will love this. I dont know how many times I've watched this since it came out but its been a fair few times, yet everytime I put it on in the play room both my daughters come running to take a time out and chill while watching it for a bit. If you haven't watched it or are unsure about watching it - give it a shot, if your little ones haven't watched it yet pop it on for them I promise they will mystified and entranced for a bit, so many good songs too it's such a magical movie.
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Could have been amazing.
Sorry can't give it 10 can't give it more than 5 as it would be lies.
It was disappointing to say the least. Considering the cartoon was so amazing I was expecting so much from this, but I'm starting to wonder if whoever is running disney movie productions these days, doesn't care or can't be bothered, because there is no magic, no spark, nothing for the imagination - you pretty much know exactly what is going to happen next at every turn -instead of being magical and dejavu 'ee it's just a dead recreated movie, waste of time to watch and very poorly cast with Belle as Emma Watson. Really? Like she's brilliant at many other things but she definitely shouldn't have been cast as belle. She would have made a fab aroura but not belle. The story still could have been told the same was but with new scenes and different shots but somehow they managed to drag this through the mud too. The only reason it made so much is cause so many disney fans like myself insist on watching every disney movie out of childhood loyalty. But as I said this was disappointing.
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998)
When I wrote this, it was rated at 6.4
Whattttttt
NO NO NO
this movie deserves a 10!
This, is madness made over a decade ago and still managed to capture so much magic and imagination I loved it when it came out and I love it now,
My kids love it and we could watch it together over and over again. Its even fab for those days when everyone's sick at home and just needs a smile put back on their face!
Sequels are normally disappointing but not this one, I dont think their is a boring part in it the whole movie is just cute. Lovely story line, great songs fabulous and timeless animation, true ORIGINAL art on screen. Great to put on when you have all the lids around as its great for girls and boys it's just such a neutral movie they both can have favorite characters. The songs are so interactive too just like the first movie.
Panipat (2019)
WHAAAAAAT??? 1 STAR REVIEWS!!!? Totally unjustified
I am shocked to see the number of 1 star reviews!?- Has been dramatised for entertainment and effect so just bear that in mind before watching, and remember your not watching a documentary and you'll be fine. What's not to love.
It was a visually stunning movie and a great story (based on true events)-based is the key word here it's not an educational film its Purely for entertainment. It's fabulous lovely period drama to watch.
Arjun kapoor? Well I thought he did a brilliant job, yeah he doesn't have much expressions but neither does my husband or most men I know so it really doesn't bother me just added a character to the type of man they are depicting....some people just have poker face
....is that a bad thing? I don't think so??? Anyway yes you should go out of your way to watch this move 100% even if it's just to critique it but saying that....the amount of positive reviews bahubali got and the negative review this got is well confusing. It's the type of movie to watch with your family on a Sunday and have a shout about inaccuracies over dinner but in no way is it painful to watch. Cinematography was beautiful too.
Pinocchio (2022)
Don't waste your time, Netflix made one - Watch that instead
I don't even know why I gave it two.
It was tragic
It did nothing to capture your imagination, it wasnt magical and as someone said below it had no soul. I mean, how can you use such great actors, directors and producers and come up with this? Do people not critique the movie before it is released? Did they all lie or was they just not listened to???? (Even worse....people were paid for making this?????- round up any disney fans and they would be able to produce something better)
I understand recreating a movie must be hard....but with all the resources, come one this is what they produced?? I'd rather watch the cartoon from the 40's at least it had that disney magic.
No effort at all, it's like they tried to copy the cartoon word for word, but all the improvements that should have been made.... wernt.
The Netflix one had a new twist....it still wasn't a movie I'm dying to watch again but a hell of a lot better than this.
Beast (2022)
Nobody. No one would do that ever. None of it
This movie inspired me to write a review.
I was on my back howling with laughter throughout the whole movie, perfect to have on in the background when you have guests over as it's just hilariously ridiculous, the criticisms are endless, i mean they deffo should have just gone the whole hog and maybe stuck a Cape and tights on him and even maybe 100% wacked a song and dance in there.
It gave me tropic thunder vibes/parody vibes ....the problem is.... Its not listed as a comedy.
Its listed as horror, adventure, drama ...okay well I would have been mad If I had saved this for Halloween night, it's definitely not scary, adventure, drama- nobody anywhere behaves like that not even the animals- so I'm sure no-one anywhere can relate to it.
Mean the lion didn't look too bad, so there's one thing but it's impossible to take the movie seriously.
