Blockbuster (2022)
The jokes just aren't landing
I'm only on the first episode, but so far none of the jokes have landed. I was expecting the show to have a very similar feel to shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Superstore, but it hasn't managed to capture that feel just yet.
It feels like they're trying too hard to be funny, and the non-stop outdated pop-culture references aren't helping. It also feels like they really want to seem progressive, but it's written very poorly and feels very out of place. It feels like when big companies try doing pop culture references in ads. It just doesn't work.
It's a cool concept for a show, but unfortunately it's just not written well.

This show gets more hate than it should
This show is by no means perfect, but it annoys me to see so many people giving it 1 star after only watching the first episode. Obviously the show is aimed at a younger audience, but that doesn't automatically make it bad. After finishing the whole season, I personally think it was really fun and honestly much better than what we saw in the trailers.
I think the people blindly giving the show bad reviews should at least watch the whole show before leaving reviews.
I was especially impressed with the animation, it goes far beyond anything we've seen on James' YouTube channel and it's very interesting to see how far he's come over the last few years, and I think you should all give it a try. Obviously, not everyone will like the show, but I'd say it's still worth a watch.
