Black Scorpion (2001)
Good Show
While it may seem silly that's what the Black Scorpion tv show was meant to be, silly. It's got that wacky, wild energy that the Batman tv show of the 60's had. It's campy and quite entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different in the genre of superheroes. Michelle Lintel is a pretty good lead who eagerly takes the role and makes it her own. I'd say she's on the same good level that Joan Severance was when she played the Black Scorpion for two tv movies. It's never dull, always fun,and there's that romance between the two leads from the two movies still going strong. Watch it for yourself and maybe you'll like it like I did. It's great fun.
Nine to Five (1980)
A Feminist Revenge Movie And A Sure Way To Bore You
Why are movies like this being greenlit?. Why do studios throw tons of money at junk like this when they'd be better off financing smaller movies that could use extra in their budgets?. You've got the unfunny Lily Tomlin, the treasonous Jane Fonda, and the mountain hick Dolly Parton as the worst trio for a movie ever. Three Amigos, which I dislike, at least had Steve Martin who could be funny. Here this is nothing more than man bad woman good. Give me a break. I'm for people getting a fair break but let's face it they get away with kidnapping their boss and they get rewarded. How ridiculous sounding is that?. No I wouldn't like it any better if it had been a trio of guys instead. I'd have still hated it.
DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990)
Pretty Good Kids Movie
Okay I'll admit it's not perfect but so what?. The obsession people can have with movies,tv shows, etc., being perfect is a cancer in our society. When something like this comes along we should enjoy it and regard as a well spent hour or so of our time being entertained. I watched the original show and loved it very much. The movie does struggle, I'll admit, such as if Merlock's immortal then he shouldn't die when he falls from the sky. Still little things like this aside, this was a pretty well made Disney movie showing why they're still considered one of the best in animation. Kids will still like this now.
...All the Marbles (1981)
The Best Women's Wrestling Movie Ever Made
Peter Falk + two beautiful actresses+ wrestling and what do you get?. You get one heck of a good time. I love this movie. It stands the test of time and is one the best Rocky inspired movies made after 1976. Sure it's a little slow paced but so what?. Rocky took its time building to his fight with Apollo Creed. It's how all good movies are made, they take their time in order to keep the audiences attention. Falk is brilliant with Vicki Frederick and Laurene Landon as his tag team, The California Dolls. They just click together perfectly. It's also the only other movie besides Back To School where I can stand Burt Young who seems to always play the same slob that he played in Rocky. The main event match is great. They put in a lot of effort and a lot of hard work to make it happen. You have to watch it to see what I mean.
Below the Belt (1980)
Decent Watch For Friday And Saturday Nights
If I were asked what wrestling movie is my favorite I'd say All The Marbles as it's the best one ever made regarding women's wrestling. Second best would be American Angels: Baptism Of Blood regardless of it being over the top at certain times as if trying to be cartoonish. Below The Belt though seems to alternate back and fourth from being serious to cartoonish. Like this barely five foot tall woman would be interested in wrestling much less get a world title shot as her first match. It came across as laughable to me. The movie should've focused more on Tommy Dukes, Rosa's opponent. Still an okay movie to watch.
Carnal Witness (1999)
The Last Great Adult Film Of The 90's
For me this one showcases one the best scenes Nina Hartley's ever done. I loved the shot of her doing it doggystyle with Chris Cannon and her riding him like a bucking bronco. I also like seeing Cara Fawn getting it good at the end, she could moan great. Nina's threesome with Chris and Allysin Chaynes I view as one of her best scenes and also as my favorite of hers. This scene, to me anyway, is what inspired the dvd series "Moms Bang Teens" and it's still the best older woman/younger man/ younger woman threesomes ever filmed. The movie, overall is a showcase to the great period of the 90's XXX..
