Kin (2021)
LOVE/HATE it is not
I really wanted to like this show. AS i did enjoy Love/Hate back in the day. And it feels like to creators wanted to copy that show. Unfortunately they completely missed the mark. The plot is extremely predictable. I predicted everything that happened... it was so disappointing. The acting is really wooden. The main actors (mother and father of the young lad) are so not believable playing grief. Its such a pity, because it had some potential. But there is no depth to any of the characters. Maybe thats why the acting is so poor. Actors didn't have much to work with. Im genuinely shocked it got a season two!
Culprits (2023)
Don't wast your time
It started ok. But very quickly got ridiculous and predictable. The characters behaved in a very stupid way. Such a pity because the first two episodes were good. Don't waste your time. The writers clearly stopped caring after the first two episodes. It started ok. But very quickly got ridiculous and predictable. The characters behaved in a very stupid way. Malpractice (2023)
Underwhelming
I was really looking forward to watching this as I love the previous work the series director have done : Boiling Point. (definitely give it a watch!). Unfortunately I have to agree with all the bad reviews I have read here. Im surprised the lead actress keeps being cast as the lead. I have seen her in three different shows now and she is very average. Saying that I think this is her best performance to date. Give yourself a favour and watch : This is going to hurt. The performance of Ben Whishaw is incredible and the show is so much closer to reality of NHS then unfortunately this show. It feels like a missed opportunity as we really need to highlight all the wrong thats happening to NHS.
The Wonder (2022)
Skip!
I understand that they wanted to be original and cleaver with the opening. But I really didn't like it. It took me out of the movie. And just didn't fit. I have no idea what the director hoped to accomplish.
Miss Pugh is as usual amazing. The whole film is very slow. I don't think it's worth your time... watch other movies that Florence is in!
The actress that plays Anna is very good. I'm just not sure what was the purpose of this film or what the director wanted to say. A lot of people didn't like the music but I actually though it was fitting.
Cinematography is beautiful and you can really see the beauty of Ireland.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Don't bother
The ending is sooo bad.... Probably because Ridlay was not there to direct most of it. There is ZERO chemistry between Travis and the Irish actress (yes, her accent slips in all the time). I wish they just kept the actress that was there in the early episode. Won't bother to watch season 2
See (2019)
Sylvia Hoeks, can we re-cast her?
If you ignore all the plot holes considering a world of blind people... its not a bad series. Mamoa is, as always amazing. But I found the actress Sylvia Hoeks (queen) and her character choices extremely annoying. She looks great with the shaved hair but high voice is just drawing me crazy.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Missed opportunity
This could-have been a really good movie. Acting was good. Was well filmed. But the story went absolutely no where. And the ending was so pointless.
On the Rocks (2020)
Great premise...Bad execution
This film starts great. Bill is (as always) fantastic. But the movie goes nowhere. And from my experience and experiences of many people I know... If you feel something is off with your partner that you've been with for many years. That means SOMETHING IS OFF and you are not paranoid.
So, don't waist your life on this film. Don't watch it.
After Life (2019)
Wonderful
The first season was amazing and the second season doesn't disappoint. The display of the grieving process is spot on. And Ricky, has a genius way of always switching between jokes and heart felt moments. It's amazing. In season two, not much happens. But it's still a joy to watch. I cant wait for season 3!
Calm with Horses (2019)
Not great
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. But I was very disappointed. There is no story and it's painfully slow. Yes, its shot beautifully but thats just not enough. The lead actor is very good (you might struggle with understanding him at times). But the casting of his girlfriend is a miss.
Normal People (2020)
6 because...
The storyline is as frustrating as the book. The lack of communication skills in the main characters drives me crazy and is not very believable. However, the casting is great. In particular Paul Mescal is amazing. Watch out for him!
The Invisible Man (2020)
Big plot hole in the ending
Can somebody explain the ending to me?
How the hell did she have the time to change into the suit and kill him and then change back in a matter of seconds?
Patients of a Saint (2020)
Bad Acting Bad script
I don't want to waist anymore time on this film... So I will keep it short.
Idea for the movie is not that bad. But the casting in this film is really really bad. The lead actress had zero charisma. The direction is cheap. Don't waits your life. Don't watch it!
