Charly (1968)
Excellent Movie!
Cliff Robertson acting job for playing Charly Gordon is amazing. It is a must see movie, just for that reason alone. The movie shows what it is like to live in the world of a mentally handicapped person. It shows how our society treats those people. It shows how Charly changes into a well, and very intelligent person. It also shows the friendship Charly has with the mouse. Who is the first to have the brain operation. Which is designed to improve the function of the brain. Also it shows the love Charly develops for this teacher Clair. However in the conclusion. The brain operation which made him a mentally well person, is a failure in the end. Sad ending of the movie. However the movie is considered a classic in my mind. Very well put together, and very well acted. I haven't read the book, this movie is based on.
Reach for the Sky (1956)
Great Movie!
The facts of Douglas Bader's life were accurately portrayed in this excellent movie. It is a great movie to watch when you are feeling lousy, and life has got you down. Douglas Bader had an amazing spirit, and lived life to the fullest. Eventhough his lost both of his legs in a flying accident. That did not stop him from becoming a war hero. Who contributed a lot to destroy Nazism, and to preserve our free way of life. I salute Douglas Bader, and this excellent movie about his life.
Thoroughbred (1974)
Great! Horse Racing Documentry
I believe that the correct title of this movie is "With Flying Colours". This movie was very well made. It featured the great acomplishment of Sandy Hawley becoming the first jockey to win 500 or more races in a single calender year. This record was set in 1973. One of the best horse racing documentries that I have ever seen.
Stablemates (1938)
Great Movie!
One of my all time favorite movies, and one of the best movies ever made about Thoroughbred horse racing. All horse racing fans will enjoy watching this movie very much. Wallace Berry and Mickey Rooney give excellent performances, too make the movie very enjoyable to watch.
The Birdmen (1971)
One of my favorite war Movies.
I feel "The Birdman"was one of the best war movies ever made. The cast of actors is excellent. The plot was interesting, and the movie was well produced. Any fan of Richard Basehart or Chuck Connors, should check out this movie. They will be in for a pleasant surprize. P.S. I'm currently looking for a copy of this movie.
