Farewell (2017)
Outstanding
Farwell is one of the rare films that I had stumbled across. The cinematography is top notch, great locations, and wonderful acting. Young Finn MacEachern as young Mikey deserves an award for his role, with his ability to show the emotions as the grieving child over the loss of his mother, was far better than many adults that I had seen in other movies. The script writing and film editing, flipping from adult Mikey to the young Mikey, was well designed and developed. Farewell is a touching and moving picture, a highly recommended film for both adults and children to watch. We all at times need to learn how to say goodbye.
Death Valley (2021)
Probably should not have been made/
Putting it nicely, I am very sorry I watched this movie.
Only one of the actors seemed to be good. The militia (bad guy) voices seemed to have their accents change at different times.
Audio track was very poorly developed. There very bad continuity in sections. For example when 2 of the soldiers crawl in a cave they show images of them crawling close together then a different angle with them no where close to each other.
The scientist character did not match the way she behaved on screen. Half the time she acted like someone that did not go to school other times she acted twisted and evil. Very more writing of the character and dialog. In Addition, the director did not know how to direct the actor in the scene so that there was at least some continuity.
The script gets an F (or a zero), the directing gets a D- (or a one)
The only thing that was done with quality is the monster. Who ever did it gets an A- (or a nine)
the acting, one actor gets a B- and everyone else gets a D-.
Simply put, a ten-year-old could have made and directed a better movie.
