Good movie, it kept my attention
6 February 2023
I liked this film. It kept my attention and I felt for the characters. The plot and the acting were good. It sort of reminded me of Bill Paxton's Frailty, which was a great film. This film may not be as good as Frailty, but it was still worth watching. People seem to hold the director to unreasonable expectations since The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were so great. Not every movie can reach those heights. Orson Wells never made another film as good as Citizen Kane, but he still made other good films worth watching. People need to give this movie a chance without holding to such high standards. I was moved by the ending and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

I loved this movie because I am sick of gore and superheroes
25 July 2022
Finally a movie that actually tells a story and develops characters. No mass murders, no super heroes, no gore, no CGI, no overpowering noises or music, no explosions, no car chases, and no gun play. Just a really thoughtful story in a beautiful setting. Sometimes I just look at what is playing and get so frustrated. I love going to the movies, but my choices are loud kids movies, superheroes, sadistic horror, etc etc. Movies like this and The Green Book and 3 Billboards outside Ebbings, Missouri are just so very very rare. Most movies I see I NEVER want to see again and I never want to even think about them. This type of movie makes me relive it and want to know more. If you have a brain and a heart and enjoy using both then go and see this movie.

I thought I was watching a long long SNL Viking parody.
25 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This film was so silly. Monty Python silly. I mean its like a gory depressing comedy. Father and son bonding by barking and farting for Odin while drinking out of a dog dish. Everyone in this films sprays it instead of saying it. Hours of screaming, barking and farting. Apparently Vikings wore armor for dates, but for sword fights they preferred to be naked. I guess to show off all that gym work. And in the middle of the fight the winning guy lets the other guy pant and scream for 5 minutes, I guess its an unwritten rule ? Oh, and they invented hockey too. Their version has more screaming and grunting and no penalty box. A lot of endless boring scenes that did not seem to be going anywhere. They tried to make up for this by very very loud music and sound effects. Oh, and if you are on a boat do not ask to be taken to shore, just jump out and swim like a fish. They must have used some of that swim footage from The Animal, or Forest Gump perhaps. The actions of the villain and the hero seem to make you scratch your head, they do not always make a lot of sense. The good ? Very nice to look at. The footage is beautiful. And speaking of beautiful, Anya Taylor Joy is mesmerizing as usual. But I am afraid I have to lump this movie in with 90% of the films I have seen in the last 20 years. I am not sorry I watched it, but I never want to watch it again. Surely they could have edited this down by at least 30 minutes. Would have been better as maybe a 10 minute SNL sketch. I do hope its popular enough to spoof on. I mean that would be a great skit, better than the movie.

If you like movies that make you think, you will like this.
13 March 2022
I loved this movie. It had a great feel and I cared about the characters. I know a lot of people will not like it because there is not a high body count and bloody action every minute. Which is why I like it. Because it makes you think. It has good dialogue and a great premise. I will not go into it because you should just watch it. 90% of the movies I watch I never want to think about again much less watch it again. Like MoonFall, one and done for me and please let me just forget that stupidity. Whereas, the movie Moon was fantastic and I ponder it often. Actually the feel of this film reminds me a lot of Moon., Both films make me think about them and ponder their endings and wondering what would happen next.

Best Sharon Stone Movie
13 February 2020
I think this is the best movie Sharon Stone ever made. She was in her physical prime. She looks better here than in any other movie. She does a great job of acting too, ( apparently she loathed her co star Billy Baldwin but you could not tell ) Her character is believable and sympathetic. I love the feel of this movie. It reminds me of an older film. Good plot and character development with just the right amount of action. The love story and the mystery are developed well. I know people rave about Basic Instinct but I think this film is much better.

Just a note to those who say its slow and boring.
2 December 2019
You see it's the CGI Super Hero effect. Today people expect explosions and gore and unrealistic fight scenes and climaxes every 5 minutes or its "boring and slow". No room from plot development or good acting or dialogue. Well I guess any movie prior to 1980 would never cut it. Surely nothing from the golden era of Hollywood. Actually movies like this are so rare today that I almost forget that they can be made. And since a large segment of audiences do not appreciate them, I guess they will be even rarer. It's just sad.
