La sociedad de la nieve (2023)
Probably the most amazing story I've ever come across
I dont put that in an exagerrating way. This is truly the most amazing story I've ever come across that I had no idea of before. Can't imagine the sense of pride and PTSD those went through. To wrap it, those 2 who had survived the previous 2 months in the top Andes eating nothing but their dead friends flesh with bacterial cysts covering their bodies and probably weighing under 100 lbs in 20,000 ft of elevation were able to muster up the last surviving ounce of strength in them to hike 40 miles through likely hundreds of thousands of feet of elevation gain/loss going through the 2nd tallest mountain range in the world to make it back.
The Babysitters (2007)
Unrealistic, wouldn't ever happen but in creepy mens minds
In what world, does a seemingly classy, 17 year old white girl decide to have sex with a very average middle income 40 year old Hispanic man out of her own innate desire? That's probably happened 0 times in history. This movie is for older men who have a fantasy. Luckily that's what it is, a fantasy, as this never happens in real life.
The characters are not very great. The acting is bland and too accepting of radical ideas without even a second thought as to whether they should actually do it or not. They just jump straight into hooking up in the movie without any development which lacks authenticity.
White Lie (2019)
The movie was very aggravating to watch
The whole time, I just wanted to tell her that this is an impossible lie to tell. That doctor at the end will charge you more than you've raised. Come clean, then just move to a new city and try to make new friends. Hopefully no traces left on the internet.
Other thing is that this movie oddly tries to be as politically correct as possible in a film that has no need to. I did the math. Do you know what percent of people are homosexual? What percent of doctors are black in Canada? What percent of lawyers black in Canada? The answer respectively is 4%, 1%, and 2%. The odds of this actually occurring in real life. 0.0008% or more directly 1 in 125,000 that scene of a couple and a doctor and a lawyer unfold this way. This is what bothers people about this political correctness: it paints something that does not match up with reality.
Overall, I want to know the desire to do this? If it was to raise money? Why not just graduate college and get a job that will maybe raise the same amount. I understand how serious mental illness is, I just think even the mentally ill go for something that's worth it. This just didn't seem worth it.
Los abrazos rotos (2009)
Fictional story of a blind old guy who gets perfect models
I didn't like the movie because somehow an 80 year old blind guy that needs help crossing the street comes across a perfect model in her 20s early 30s, he then somehow convinced her to come read him the newspaper in his apartment then immediately goes to kissing her, taking off her top, grabbing her breasts, and then having sex? I would love to see an 80 year old blind guy do this to a perfect model I the real world. In no doubt, it'd end in arrest and jail. Then some how earlier in his life, gets another perfect model 30 years his younger?
This movie seems to me to be a fantasy for older men a dream life that would never happen in the real world. Because rest assured, this is without doubt a fantasy except for billionaires. Millionaires even couldnt pull this off.
You (2018)
Too messed up for me to think it's edgy cool. No one to root for. No catharsis.
I'm a firm believer that what you watch and feed your mind has an effect on your life choices and thoughts. I'm not a 50 year old mom. I'm a younger male. This show is just too sick for me to rate it high. Much like watching South Park rots your mind, this show has no one to root for, no protagonist, no wholesome ending, just some sick screwed up individual killing all of the good girls and getting away with it. It just doesn't sit right with me. World's is already hard enough. I don't need to see anything like this on top of it. It's not going to make you go out and repeat his acts. It's just going to make you have a more cynical view of the world and negatively effect your happiness.
