Dark Skies (1996–1997)
Best TV Sci Fi i've ever seen !
24 January 2003
If you like your aliens grey and your conspiracies deep you'll love this show. I pity those sci fi fans who have not seen this. Much better than X Files, Roswell or Taken. They must bring it out on DVD.

A secret US government operation, Majestic 12, has been up and running since the Roswell incident in 1947. See 20th century American history retold. Things happen for a reason.

More conspiracies than an assylum, more grays than a mother ship.

A bit lame, straight to video

Vietnam War Film. Just a battle at an up country LZ.

Nice battle scenes but no real story. Not a patch on Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers etc etc. Most other Nam films are better. Try Hamburger Hill, Apocalypse Now, Born on the Fourth of July, Casualties of War first.

Also check out The Thin Red Line (WWII).

South American kidnap thriller/action.
24 February 2002
Terry Thorne (played by Russell Crowe-Gladiator) is an ex-SAS soldier who now earns a living as a hostage negotiator in the dangerous world of kidnap and rescue insurance. Peter (David Morse-12 Monkeys) and Alice Bowman (Meg Ryan) have been living in a politically unstable part of South America for five months, when Peter is kidnapped by rebels. Thorne is flown in to negotiate, but decides to go it alone when his company orders him away from the assignment.

Great suspense thriller, with gripping action and strong performances from Crowe, Ryan and Morse. Well worth a watch.
