Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
I AM FURIOSA!
Finished to see the movie the only word that came to my mind was WOW. I can say that this is one of the best prequel of all time, i can say that this story can stand on his feet also without fury road and that is cool as much fury road, if not more.
George Miller's style in this is at is peak.
While watching the movie you can Tell that you're watching something that is unique, despite this franchise its 45 years old. With things like this you can see the talent of a great director and Miller didn't disappoint.
Anya-Taylor Joy and Chris Hemsworth performances were both beautiful.
On one side we have the brave Furiosa reprised to perfection and doesn't make you regret at all the beautiful performance of charlize theron. On the other side we have the incredible surprise of the Dr. Dementus of chris hemsworth. As an actor he as always been talented but with this one he literally explode in a performance that is funny, weird, frenetic, hateful and represents the peak of his career for the moment.
If you haven't seen it yet, go and live such a beautiful experience that can't be lost.
Challengers (2024)
A Challenge that is more than tennis
The first time a heard that the next Guadagnino's film was about sport, i knew that the game was just a part of what it would have been. This movie with his serious, painful, tense but also funny moments represented a real friendship and the will of fight for it, even without saying it directly.
The character of Tashi Duncan, the prodigy fallen into disgrace, literally was willing to do anything to reach hers dream of glory, and the incident made her vulnerable and lustful. She tried to move on but seeing other people less talented than her do what she was meant to do destroyed her and the desire of glory prevailed over love.
In the very last moment we can say that something has been finally fixed in everyone and the great Luca Guadagnino let us imagine the rest.
Dune: Part Two (2024)
The Star Wars of the new generation
When i was watching this movie i felt really an happiness for the beauty and execution of this piece of art. I can easily say that at this point Dune part 2 is the most representative movie of all the art of Denis Villeneuve, it contains a lot of ispiration from 2001: a space odyssey and also from his pasts films like Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival. He did a perfect sequel for the first film that was also on point, but this one is more strong and we can see the beauty of the character and story development that leave us with the need of another sequel. Last thing but not for importance, the end of this film gived a sensation of excitement and curiosity for the future of this incredible saga.
Napoleon (2023)
Napoleon story in a funny and romantic way
Very solid performances in a visually stunning film that is in some part is too fast and doesn't give the time to feel the importance of the moment. I loved how it showed the relation of Giuseppina and Napoleon, a very complicate story that in the film is showed with a very good touch. The battles were visually incredible and directed in a perfectly way, especially the last one, but some of the battles and the crucial point of the battles were too fast and it maked the tension of the film low and if you count that there's a lot of humor the tension is Literally zero. In conclusion i would recommend this film to everyone cause is a lot enjoyable and fun too watch but don't expect a masterpiece or a mind blowing film cause is not.
