Kiss Me Again (2006)
1/10
This was LOUSY
25 November 2007
This movie was dreadful. It only gets one star simply because I cannot give it any lower.

There was absolutely no redeeming features about this movie. It looked cheap and nasty. Acting was woeful. The dialog was the sort of thing I would expect from something like Party of Five or one of those lame TV series.

Jeremy London looked WAY to young to be a professor, (of what I am not sure because I fast forwarded a lot of it). Completely miscast, not sure that he would be right in anything. This was 45 minutes of my life wasted. I said I forwarded through a lot of this.

No words to describe this

To give this movie a Turkey rating would be too good for it. This is more like a nappy full of green diarrhea, difficult to look at and impossible to stomach.

The acting in the first one was bad, but a great movie. Compared to this, the actors in the first one look like classically trained actors who should have got Awards for their performances.

Everything about this turd of a movie is diabolical. The photography is way too dark, you cannot make out what is going on in any of the scenes, the music sounds too much like Backdraft, the acting is non existent, the direction, well there was no direction. The FX, nothing new was seen. The set direction was a joke. It reminded me of something a film student would do for a project.

I heard this cost 6 million dollars to make. I have no idea where the money went, but it sure didn't go into making the film. Maybe it went towards the wrap party, on alcohol to make everyone forget they were ever involved in this excrement.

I wouldn't even try to obtain this movie via a five finger discount. Do yourself a favour, ask your local video shop to burn this crap.

"For those about to rock, I salute you"
11 November 2003
I loved this movie.

Jack Black is terrific in this movie. Whether the character he plays in this movie was written this way, it is a role that suits him to a T.

I was surprised that the kids in this movie played as large a part as they did. It can always be a little bit of a worry making comedies with kids in it, let alone first time actors. the kids who play significant roles pull it off marvelously, especially the characters of Summer and Billy, the band's stylist.

It is probably the first movie I have seen in which NOT ONE of the audience left during the final credits.

the soundtrack is excellent as well. I had my foot tapping along with the rock songs, especially at the end.

The fact I got in for free to this movie at a special preview, was an added bonus. I would still pay to see this.

Satisfactory ending for the Trilogy
9 November 2003
With all the negative reviews that are circulating at the moment, I went into this movie very tentatively. Good thing I did, because I enjoyed it. Not immensely mind you.

Like the first sequel, it suffered from what I like to call "dire-logue" eg "Kiss me. One last time. Kiss me".

Another area in which it suffered, the writers seemed to try to hard to have a surprise ending, and in the end, didn't know how to end it satisfactorily and this is the result. Mind you, I am comparing it with an ending that I had read about, which to me was p*** weak. An absolute cop out.

Where this movie did succeed however, where Reloaded did not, was that it was not more of the same. Reloaded had choreographed fight scene after choreographed fight scene, in other words, they all looked to rehearsed. This one had only one such scene and that was at the end, the rest looked a lot fresher.

While not a great sequel by any stretch, it was a reasonably fitting ending to what "WAS" a fresh approach to action movies.

Dude, Where's the laughs?

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a comedy, is it not? If so, why is it not funny.

I cannot believe Ashton Kutcher has made a name for himself in movies. So far he is batting a big fat zero for the movies he has been in. Looks like another Freddie Prinze Jr. (Just how did Freddie become a star making the crap he does.)

There is not much acting going on with either of the actors. I felt like I was watching another Bill and Ted movie, minus Keanu and Alex. The only difference being, Bill and Ted was a lot better than this poor excuse of a comedy.

At least Ashton has done the right thing and refused to do a sequel unless it is star studded and directed by MArtin Scorsese, because going by this movie, it will be a cold day in hell before that ever happens.

Bad Eggs (2003)

Bad Eggs is Good Eggs
3 August 2003
There are a number of Australian movies around that tend to play up the typical Australian bloke or "sheila" image which quite frankly, make me want to curl up and die in embarrassment. (One of the previews I saw with this movie does nothing to make me think otherwise, a movie called Take Away). Then there are movies like Bad Eggs.

Bad Eggs tends not to try and have a laugh at us Aussies, rather, it aims (and for the most part, succeeds) in going for main stream comedy which could well work for international audiences.

If you can get past the so called "acting"(they are mostly stand up comedians, not thespians)you may end up enjoying a very witty movie, which contains quite a few sight gags, which are very funny. (The one in which the security guard is watching a send up of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is quite hilarious)

"Imagine what you could do, with that cash bonanza of $478 dollars".

Even if you are not an Aussie, you should still find plenty to laugh at with this movie.

This is without doubt "Champagne comedy"

Femme Fatale (2002)
Boring Beyond Belief
23 June 2003
I am a fan of De Palma, but he is a very hot and cold director. His movies are either excellent or they stink. This one stinks BIG TIME. Cop out ending, pathetic acting, hardly erotic or thrilling, everything it claims to be, it is not.

I can see why this only went straight to video DVD in Australia. It is disappointing to notice that his last two movies have had appalling endings. That Mission To Mars ending was the most ridiculous endings I have seen in some time.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
30 November 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Expect this movie to feature among the Razzies this year. This is a turkey of the highest order. Everything about it was boring. This movie stank more than the rotting corpse at the end of the movie would have stank. Word of warning. When a movie is promoted as being the sexiest thriller of any year, with the emphasis on sexiest, and there are no other quotes from critics, it is a good idea to wait for the video to come out... as a weekly. A waste of 2 hours of my day, I could have used to do the washing, and an Australian $14.

"but the critics aren't mean they're just adjusting"
10 November 2002
I saw this movie on DVD the other day, and I must say I was impresses. I have always enjoyed Danny DeVito's movies that he has directed and this is no exception. IMDB has the release date for Australia as May 2002, however, I don't ever recall this movie ever been released in Australia. It most certainly is not out on video or DVD as yet, and to not give it a theatrical release out here would be a crime.

I noticed that it has not faired well financially in America, (9 million), but I hope that it becomes something of a cult classic. It most certainly is deserving of such reputation.

Favourite character would have to have been Spinner. "This costumes making my balls itch.

Shallow Hal (2001)

Not so Shallow
31 May 2002
I had heard and seen a few reviews of this film saying it was offensive to fat people and not very good. I found it completely the opposite.

In a movie that could quite easily have been ruined by smothering it in sentimentality, the Farrelly Brothers always manage to make it just crude enough to be funny, but not enough to be smutty.

Admittedly, the Farrelly Brothers can sometimes tread a fine line with their characters, but they seem to know where that line is drawn and never step across it.

Almost There
19 May 2002
Warning: Spoilers
***Some SPOILERS may be present****

While better than T.P.M, A.O.T.C is by no means the best of the bunch.

The dialogue is still pretty ordinary and cliched, especially during the romance scenes, and Hayden and Natalie should be called Pinocchio 1 and Pinocchio 2 for their particularly wooden acting. (To be fair, this is probably not all their fault.)

Filming finished in Sept 2000, with some reshoots in March 2001. That is still over a year from the end of Principal Photography to the release date, obviously to concentrate on SFX and sound effects. You think they could spend at least half of that time or even a quarter of that time to polishing the script.

I hope George does the right thing for the final installment, and get a professional screenwriter to write the screenplay, and somebody who can direct the actors.

It is time to get back to basics, have the SFX serve the story, not the other way around.

Final Word: I must admit, that some of these comments are a little prejudiced or probably unwarranted. I had never imagined what the Star Wars universe was like away from Dagobah, Hoth, Tatooine, Alderaan, Bespin, Endor etc, whereas George had already envisioned these worlds, so I am trying to keep an open mind about the new movies. But having said that it does not excuse cliched writing and little or no direction. 6.5 out of 10

P.S I couldn't help but laugh during the final light sabre battle, with you know who.
