The Death of April (2022)
The Death Of Entertainment
TLDR It's bad
Writing this as a huge Found Footage fan.
I couldn't make it longer than halfway through before I turned it off and fell asleep. It was boring and incredibly cringy.
Lead actress was annoying, real annoying. I think she may suffer from down syndrome or something?
Ontop of that, nothing much happens, it's just her acting like a clown in front of a web camera like she probably does in rl, and it cuts back to her lame family talking about how great a kid she was.....it does this for literally 45 minutes. Occasionally a door would slowly open in the background and they even brought out the tired and predictable ouiji board we've seen in every. Single. Horror movie.
There's much better found footage out there, so if you're looking for a good one, skip this.
The Outwaters (2022)
Bloody Mess Of A Movie
I'll preface this by saying I love Found Footage with a passion.
And the set up for this movie looked good, 4 friends go out in the Desert alone and encounter weird scary stuff.
The Outwaters was definitely a different experience, but not a pleasant one.
Once the scary begins rolling the movie just falls apart.
The actual movie itself is bad. It's just confusing scene after scene of darkness, flashlight, and they throw in blood everywhere. Throwing blood and vomit everywhere doesn't make a good movie, it just left me confused. There's also some mutilation going on.
I gave the movie another star just for the fact I held on (barely) hoping to see some kind of great revalation to what was happening that might save this movie, and that never came.
I had read online that people threw up watching this, and i rolled my eyes at it, but after watching it myself I believe them. After I completed this movie I felt dizzy, light-headed, and even had a mild panic attack. So if you're someone who suffers from anxiety issues steer clear.
3/10.
