Knight Rider (2008)
The knight life.
OK, I got enough of people insulting the new show and rating it low in comparison with the original. First of all: the ridiculously stupid and random twists and subplots of shows like Lost and Heroes aren't examples of good writing. By the way, the few good ideas behind Heroes are a total rip-off from X-Men. Then: the original show was fun, I loved it as a kid, I sincerely enjoy it today. But it was just that. The scripts were campy to say the least, with holes and non-sense everywhere. The characters were... a talking car. Nothing else, Michael Knight was just optional. The new show, also, is just fun. A talking car, a funny character for Michael Knight, punch lines and that's all we need. This new show delivers some good action, not too much, funny lines and even some acceptable (and advanced) visual effects. I like it just like i liked the old one. And by the way: KITT has to be a cool car that you can expect to see everyday, like it was the Trand Am, like it is the new Mustang. Great choice
World Trade Center (2006)
Opportunistic, extremely poorly written and directed.
I am sure that all the positive comments about this movie reflect the feelings of people who have lost someone in the tragedy. From a human point of view, I can understand those people. But this is a movie, and it should be judged as a movie. It is the most boring and obvious collection of already heard lines that I've ever seen. For two hours the main characters are buried and all they say is "don't die pal" or lines like that. All the most obvious lines that you have heard in movies when some good guy is dying. Nicholas Cage's character lacks any kind of humanity, because he is just a perfect prototype... looks like a black and white American dad from a TV show from the cold war times. Stone and the others should have written something for this movie, instead of recycling empty and boring stereotypes. This movie is just a very bad movie, squalid like those direct to TV movies about plane crashes. Just an opportunistic attempt to speculate on the tragedy.
The Dark Knight (2008)
The first unpredictable movie in years
I won't give you spoilers about this movie, I will just say that this time the word "experience" really fits. I had a past as a comic book fan, but soon left because of the poor execution of most superhero comics. My first love, cinema, always survived anyway. Don't watch this as a superhero movie, because it's not. Easily the best movie of the year, maybe in the last few years. Surely the best comic book movie ever made, even better than Singer's rendition of the Marvel Mutants. Don't watch it for Batman, don't watch it for the great acting, don't watch it for the perfect work of Ledger. Just watch it and let it bring you in its own world.
