Superman Returns and I left asking for my money back

I cannot believe this didn't go straight to DVD. What in the world was I doing sitting there for 2 hours and 43 minutes or something like that, watching...? I swore after King Kong that I wouldn't ever do that again on a work of trash. OK, 2 out of 10... I liked the lex Luther and superman. They were great for the roles. As far as everyone else, the casting I thought was pitiful. I even thought Lex Luther's sidekick would've played a better Lois lane, seemingly they're both bony in the face. Yet the Lois lane in this movie looked like she had baby fat all over her face and looked like a kid smoking cigarettes. I was almost offended! she was so fixed up, she didn't look old enough to have a kid. She looked like someone attending Hogwarts with Harry Potter! As for the movie, the music score sucked. The comedic balance that REeve's showed was not there. Lex was too serious in this one. Superman Returns was almost as dark as Batman returns! Why are the writers doing this in Hollywood? Batman was Adam West! Then it was Michael Keaton. Those Batmans worked! Superman was Reeves! He was goofy as Clark Kent! Margot Kidder was hilarious with her smoking, the way she dissed Clark Kent, her juice diets, and her cancer growls. Her boss was funny! Comedy made those movies great. That's why Spiderman remains so successful. It's the humor in it. 2 out of 10 is generous to me. I'll never watch Superman Returns again unless it's on TV and I'm asleep.

Witches' Brew (1980)

A fun kid flick

This was a successful scary but funny flick for kids between 8 and 14 years of age. Teri Garr is an excellent actress. If there was ever a Bewitched character to replace Montgomery, Garr would have been perfect. This film is something to remember, is funny, and in its time, it was fun to watch. Today's movies, sure, somebody rents it and of course it's cheesy. Check out Rocky 1. Check out Star Wars 1. Great movies then, but today, they play like a radio on while you focus on fixing the car out in the garage or cutting the lawn. This movie is fun and I give it 6 out of 10. It is a classic to slapstick horror. The other characters in the movie are interesting.
