weird, hard to understand

This movie's plot is difficult to follow. If you rent the movie sit back and let the costumes, sets, imagination, and special effects take you away.

I think the director just had an idea to do a costume movie about wizards with special powers. He got everything but a compelling story

original, funny, intelligent

One of the funniest Israeli movies I have seen. Life of the actual Baruch Spinoza is played out in modern Tel Aviv. Born, expelled from Jewish community, meets his Clara, negotiates with enemy France (here th Palestinians), doesn't go to Heidelberg, dies. Even the Messiah comes! Then the Messiah's gone . . . .

Along the way, interesting snapshots of Israeli society.

Peace

Avanti Popolo (1986)
parts slow, overall worth it

Although an Israeli movie, most of the movie is actually in Arabic. I can't say this was great, but it is still worth seeing, even if just for the 15 minutes where the Egyptian and Israeli soldiers are together.

Pretty funny, but some parts are weirdly political.

movie boring. you watch a guy approach for five minutes. you watch a guy look at something for five minutes.

I got a lot of use out of the fast forward button for this one.

The episodes in the movie do not take place chronologically. Many episodes discussed, like the betrayal, are not even shown.
