The Continental (2023)
Expecting more and very hard to view
Was eagerly awaited , especially with Mel Gibson on board. A great fan of John Wick series and was expecting something rather good.
The acting and characters were ok and had some good action scenes But it seems the "baddies" need some quality target practice as they don't seem to be be able to hit anyone.
The story line is reasonable , the car chase is entertaining but the shooting scenes are hopeless.
BUT why is it so DARK and most difficult to view.
Some scenes you can only hear a voice and can not see any characters , so can't make out what is going on. Very much a let down. Was tempted to stop after first episode but managed to carry on.
Full Circle (2023)
Interesting Plot BUT...
Interesting plot but very confusing to deal with in the first two episodes. Also, so difficult to understand the dialogue as they talk so fast and accents unclear. Guesswork on our part as to what is said and what is happening. But the intrigue is building in episode three and so the suspense begins. The acting is up to standard for this level of production so no complaints in that department. Some scenes are very dark and very difficult to determine what is happening so a bit more guesswork required on our part , which also adds to the suspense. Will Definetly continue to watch the remaining episodes to see how it all fits together.
The Gone (2023)
Ok, BUT ..............
Was hoping for a good story line and detective work but was a bit disappointed.
A mixture of Irish culture and long standing grudges mixed with their wonderful accent. . There were long drawn out "staring at each other " sequences and slow going in parts. Sometime was spent waiting for something to actually happen on screen.
The characters seem to mix very awkwardly and doesn't seem to flow smoothly.
A Good performance from Acushla Kupe as always.
Definitely need subtitles to understand it all and to find out what is going on.
Good photography and scenic views and great to put Te Aroha on the map.
