Nefarious (2023)
They tried to play the Judeochristian mythology straight
It's definitely Christian propaganda. This is objectively true, whether you claim to be an atheist or not. The protagonist is holding the idiot ball throughout their entire conversation. The hackneyed "points" made by the antagonist could have been eviscerated by a relatively competent highschooler, let alone someone supposedly learned like the protagonist. And the Glenn Beck cameo took the absurdity to hilarious levels. I couldn't stop laughing at the end.
Be all that as it may, it was actually a good movie. Held my attention the entire time. And the acting (before the Glenn Beck part, -1 stars for that) was phenomenal. I loved the multiple personalities of the antagonist. That they tried to play the Judeochristian mythology straight was funny, but it worked. They pulled it off. Maybe not as well as Norse mythology works for Marvel, but it worked.
I'd watch Nefarious 2.
The Simpsons: Hostile Kirk Place (2023)
A standout episode!
If you're living in a relatively stable political environment, this episode slots in nicely as another funny worthwhile story in a long line of funny Simpsons stories.
However, if you're in the the US, you'll recognize the allegories immediately. Unlike most media with a political undertone, Hostile Kirk Place doesn't drop the naive elementary-civics "both sides bad" anvil on your head as more tepid writers might. Not that one of the characters doesn't try... and by the end it blows up in her face, as it should.
Instead, this episode makes a series of common sense points and sound extrapolations in its biting critique of the politics of the moment, all while making you laugh.
This is the best type of political commentary: where the people who watch it, see themselves in it, and get angry about it are exactly the people who needed to see this the most.
