Horribly entertaining
24 February 2024
OMG this film is SOOO bad it is actually good (in a bad way). Firstly, the acting sucks. I have seen dead twigs and plain curtain put up a better performance than this ensemble. Everyone acts like they are acting, which is of course bad acting,. Second, the CGI is primitive although I must say that the werewolf transformation was impressive, even though it is obvious that it use a stop motion action sequence with parts added to the whole every time the camera stops. And how is it that when a werewolf is being beaten to dead,it sounds like a deranged cat? Finally, the stories seem to be written by pre-schoolers. Even porn has better dialogues that this mess.. Verdict: You just have to watch it to believe how legendarily lousy it is!!! Good fun if trashy, abysmal, super low-budget horror flick is your thing.

Poor storytelling
31 August 2023
I'm sorry but I cannot agree with many of the reviews written here about the anthology. The stories are unvarying in structure and development, only in theme, and after a while this becomes predictable and tiring. For example, every segment has a dream-within-a-dream-that-may-not-be-a-dream sequence just to introduce ambiguity to story. So when something terrifying happens in the story, don't get too excited because the entire event may not have happened at all, but is just the wild imagination of a character. The third story, moreover, about two sisters vying for the hand of a wealthy who unknown to them is a cannibal, does not make much sense and the viewer is expected to just make a lot of assumptions to fill in the gaps. And in the last story, it is obvious that the ambulance is going deliberately slowly so that the zombies can catch up to it and wreak horror on its occupants because no way can a zombie run faster than an ambulance if the ambulance was traveling at vehicle's speed. All this reflects lazy storytelling with attention given only to what would scare/disgust the audience, not entertain the audience with a good narrative corresponding with horror. Good films, whatever the genre, should tell an effective story, without which the film is just relying on its affect. A roller-coaster ride would be more thrilling and worth it for that purpose.

strap on your seat belts
6 August 2023
This has got to be one of the most fun films I've seen in a long time, and coming from someone who is not really a fan of fantasy, that's saying a lot! You're continually at the edge of your seat and just when you think you are sliding back into position again, your get bumped back to the edge again ... so if you don't want to fall off your seat, tie yourself to it or get superglue and say goodbye to your pants. But it's gonna be worth it, so pants shpamts.

It's such a crazy ride, I think I'm gonna go for it again...

Surely a favorite so far for this year and I hope more installments of this franchise will come...

Supernatural Smooshanatural!
1 July 2023
The only thing supernatural about this film is that it was released to an unsuspecting public. Predictable stories, abysmal acting and faded to no color for effect that flattens everything out are just some of the outstanding shortcomings of this sad sack. In fact, the only redeeming aspect of the film is the framing story of a cute if slightly chubby priest under attack by a Christopher Lee lookalike. Watch at your own peril and if you do, have something else to do at the same time so that you can avert your eyes and preoccupy your mind a whenever cringe-worthy performance tarnish the screen.
