Highway to Hell (1991)
One of the funniest horror movies of all time
Highway to hell is by far one of the funniest horror movies of all time. There are tons of hilarious lines and scenes throughout the entire film. As a person who enjoys over-the-top horror movies, this is my favorite. This one beats all of the other comedy/horror movies I have seen to date: Jack Frost, Head of the Family, Python, Raptor, Night of the Demons, Hell's Highway (not to be confused with this one, Highway to Hell), Dead Alive, Demons, Terror Toons. While these movies do have their moments, Highway to Hell is consistent and overall a better movie. I highly recommend this movie to any fan of the comedy/horror genre.
Jackass: The Movie (2002)
Funny as hell as long as you have a good sense of humor
I hate it when people do not realize the type of movie they go to see. If you think the show is dumb, you will think the movie is dumb. If you think the show is funny you will think the movie is funny. You can't go into this movie expecting a plot, great acting, or amazing special effects because there isn't any. It's a compilation movie of skits an pranks, that's it. It is hilarious, I have never laughed that much at any movie. Remember, it's low brow humor, if something is funny then it's funny, who cares if it is gross or if it offends someone? Some of you people out there need to develop a sense of humor and not be so PC all the time. The people who didn't like this movie should probably go see the Jerry Seinfeld movie instead. As for Jackass, if you're a fan of the show, you'll love the movie.
Panic Room (2002)
Watch this movie and see why david fincher is my favorite director
This movie is a work of art, simple and elegant. The camera angles cause you to look at things differently, the movie is complete in everyway. There were a few times that the cgi sweeping camera was overused, but that is my only complaint. I missed this movie when it was in the theaters and I took a risk by purchasing the dvd without seeing it first and I am so glad that I did. This is a excellent movie, it's hard to put into words how much I enjoyed it, I just sat in awe of how it flowed and progressed. Definitely one of my very top movies, and proud to have it in my collection. I was also impressed with the acting especially that of Dwight Yoakam, very surprising. 10/10
It (1990)
Quite Possibly the Worst Made for TV Movie of All Time
A while ago I decided to rent this movie because I had always heard it was scary. The first few times the clown appears, it is a bit scary but it totally falls apart at the end. SPOILER When the group goes back down in the sewer and they find a giant spider, it is extremely hard to take it seriously, but it isn't easy to laugh because it is just dumb. The movie tries to be deep and emotional and does not accomplish this. The acting is of course, horrible. To top it off the movie is VERY, VERY, LONG. I do not usually say this but do yourself a favor and do not see this movie! You will regret it.
Zero stars!!!
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)
Very predictable, but there are worse movies out there
When I heard good things about this movie I figured that I wouldn't mind seeing it. While it was not worst movie I have ever seen, it certainly is not even close to the best or even what I would call "good enough to be watched a second time". There is no plot or conflict and there isn't much in the way of character development and the movie is extremely, extremely, predictable. Don't get me wrong, there are a few mildly funny parts in this movie, but then again it is not targeted at the 18-25 year old market. If you are a member of an older generation and if you have close contact with a greek or ethinc family you will probably enjoy this movie, but as for me, I'll pass on it.
P.S. John Corbett, GET A GOD DAMN HAIRCUT!!!!
